I don't see the Saints bringing him back, but who knows. For whatever reason, naked pictures of Sean Payton or whatever, he did fend off Danny Clark and Brian Simmons for his job the past two seasons.

Proof positive that God does in fact smile upon the Saints!
Addition by subtraction. Maybe the long overdue overhaul of the defense has finally begun. SFIAH |

The guy is always out of position and cannot get off blocks. Why in the heck would we want to keep him, even as a backup?
I'm seen him get swallowed up on plays so many times, that it makes me ill to think about. SFIAH |

On the play against the Eagles when McNabb made the long run, Hollis took up two blockers and in stead of Simoneau hitting the gab he runs right up Hollis back and got pushed back and in the process McNabb runs for a long gain right at the spot Simoneau vacated. He should have never beaten out Danny Clark or Brian Simmons but that’s a Payton player which is BS!!!!!!!

Because we do not have one under contract now. Thats why. Thats the only reason why. Better safe than sorry. Besides he can play both MLB and WLB. No he is not my first choice but he is the only option we have right now. Sign him to another one year deal and if the replacement are found by camp cut him if he does not work out. He knows the system and that is his only upper hand.

Re: Saints | Team may not bring back Simoneau
Form everything I am reading it sounds like the NYG are going to make a push to keep him. The sticking point seems to be length of contract. He feels he proved himself this year. Against the run I would agree but against the pass he still needs work. Stuck on the east coast I have to watch more NYG football than I like. LOL If he does sign with us good but I would still go after one of the two top ILB in the draft. Just to good to pass up. Problem is we are picking behind the Jets and NE. both teams have them on their radar. The jets would be more than happy to make it pick just to stick it to the Pats. Yep it is that childish.
Dan Connor, OLB, Penn State Sr, 6-3, 233 Connor has the flexibility to play both OLB and ILB, so I have NE leaning towards him. They like flexibility. James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio State Jr, 6-3, 244 At 6-3, 240 pounds and with great speed, Laurinaitis can do it all at linebacker and he has the experience to make an instant impact. Well, with Jenkins off the board, the Saints upgrade its MLB position with the Little Animal. Laurinaitis would be a significant upgrade over Mark Simoneau. The Saints also would get James father, “The Animal” as a supporter, and it’s always nice to have a guy like that on your side. Never know the pats are always open to deal and they have 5 FA at CB so they may trade down or just take Malcolm Jenkins, CB, OSU Jr, 6-1, 202, 4.45 They do not believe in picking players for the value they carry in the draft by a rating. They just pick players who play. No hype is usually involved. |
