• Cornerback - The beleaguered Fred Thomas is the only Saints corner not under contract and won't be in the team's plans for 2008. That leaves Mike McKenzie, Jason David, Jason Craft and Usama Young on the roster.

David was a failure, McKenzie may not be back for the start of the season with a torn ACL, Craft is a nickel corner at best and Young lacks experience.

Top free agents: Asante Samuel, Marcus Trufant, Nnamdi Asomugha, Randall Gay, Drayton Florence, Jacques Reeves.

The Saints had better make a splash in free agency, or believe it or not, things could get worse next year. Tough pill to swallow knowing they need two starters at CB.

Money wise I want the one that comes in third in the big CB contract race.

Maybe. Sammuel will inflate those number for all them If thats the case back off and protect your cap room. Pick up a lesser known.

Put the saved money into another position or sign two for the price of one. Look, we are in a bad way with M&M getting hurt so late in the season for next year. We are going to have at least two new faces next year starting so we need to spend and pick the right players. Look on the bright side. It can not get any worse.
