Building teams through the NFL Draft

Building teams through the NFL Draft | HoumaToday.com | The Courier | Houma, LA

Players like cornerback Usama Young, offensive guard Andy Alleman, offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod and linebacker Marvin Mitchell have shown some potential to develop into solid NFL performers, but the most impressive rookie was undrafted free agent halfback Pierre Thomas from Illinois.

And who knows what the future will hold for first-round pick wide receiver Robert Meachem from Tennessee.

Building through the draft is really the only way to go these days. Teams are doing exceptional jobs with their own free agents, as teams have made great strides at mastering the salary cap. Last years Saints draft still has to be considered incomplete as far as grading goes. This year the Saints will have to strike it big in the draft if they want to advance to the next level.
