NFC South team needs
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3242878
Tight end -- Head coach Sean Payton places a lot of emphasis on the Saints' two tight-end packages. Starting TE Eric Johnson and backup TE Billy Miller are both unrestricted free agents. Johnson was a steady player who had more value in the passing game than running game, and Miller has better value as a blocker than receiver. With that said, backup TE Mark Campbell spent the season on injured reserve and is best suited as a run-blocker. The Saints could be even more dangerous on offense with a complete tight end. |
Re: NFC South team needs
ESPN should go back and look at tape on Billy Miller. He is a very good receiver. I say resign Miller, get Campbell healthy again, and the Saints should be alright at TE. I agree that picking up a complete TE would be a huge deal, but there is only so much money to go around. Plus, who is out there? Crumpler?

I don't know what Billy (BIG TIME) Miller has to do to get some R.E.S.P.E.C .T. He had a better year then boy YALE MAN.

Re: NFC South team needs
Billy has aleays gotten mid level respect in the NFL. He is a traditional TE. Block first then catch. Not really ESPN highlight material. But in my book he is SOLID. Bring him back. As for FA out there I wonder what a change in teams and QBs would do for Ben Troupe Tenn or what Ben Utecht Indi would be like in our system.
But sign Miller and take a risk on a good mid level FA that is young and wont demand the bank. |
