Former Creston star signs w/ Saints

Former Creston star signs with Saints - mlive.com

Receiver Carlton Brewster, 25, signed a two-year contract with the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.

The former Creston High School and Ferris State star signed with the Denver Broncos as a practice-squad player in September only to be released a week ago.

"I worked out for the Saints (on Tuesday), and things went well," he said. "The Saints will be a better opportunity for me because of their spread offense."

5'11'' 208 Straight outta high school?? Anyone have anymore info on "Punky" Brewster? ;)

Brewster appears to be competition for Skylar Green and Lance Moore for punt and kick returner

LOL. He'll still get burnt. I can loan my great grandmother for the summer if he needs to improve.

This dude has little to no chance of making the team. He got a two year contact? Now, that is funny.

If he can hold on to the ball he's Deverey's replacement!

Budsdrinker, THAT'S IT!!! You just came up with the Saints' new marketing slogan:

If you can catch it - YOU"RE Devery's replacement :D

I spoke with one of the quarterbacks at Ferris State that Carlton Brewster played with and this is what he had to say:

Quote:

He was a year younger than me. Came to ferris as a qb and switched to rec. He is strong for a rec with decent speed. DId about 22 bench reps and ran a 4.4 in our testing but i think a 4.5 when he ran for the nfl scouts. All around pretty good rec, routes are good, was a lazy blocker in college but im sure that is different now. I didnt necassary like his attitude, he doesn't like white people, but hes not a bad guy. He led nfl europe in receiving last year and has been on practice squads the last few years.
