Re: Well the Cowboys got him
Thank You Lord for answering my prayers...
If the Saints wanted a slow, old middle line backer they could have just re-signed Mark Simaneou. The team needs a quick, young, dynamic STUD in the middle. Zach Thomas is/was not that. |
Re: Well the Cowboys got him
I'm not really too upset that we didn't get him. Besides, now that the 'Boys got Thomas, does that make Bobby Carpenter dispensable? I'd love to see that kid get a shot in a 4-3 defense.

I thought he wanted to play for a Superbowl contender???

Re: Well the Cowboys got him
This is relatively good news to me...i would have accepted his signing, there is no doubt he would have been a short term upgrade over what we had, but i am looking for a long term solution. Every offseason its the same thing with the saints...we always need a CB, LB, DT and TE...EVERY SINGLE OFFSEASON.
Lets make a trade for Vilma...lets sign Drayton Florence...lets draft McKelvin or Rivers, or Conner, or Ellis...lets inject some youth and some playmakers into this defense. |
Re: Well the Cowboys got him
agree... long term solution!!!

He did, and to be honest he has a better chance with the Cowboys. The Patriots cant use cameras anymore and Zach knows D, which means he knew our secondary and overall D is not as good as the Cowboys. |

Re: Well the Cowboys got him
I am a little disappointed, but not heart broken. I think the guy has a couple years left in him, and right now the Saints only have Brian Simmons, who by the way is listed as an OLB, and Marvin Mitchell. I am interested to know what the Saints and Patriots offered him, because he did sign a pretty friendly deal with the Cowboys. I think in the end it was just a feller wanting to go back home.

Thomas inks one-year deal with Dall
Thomas inks one-year deal with Dallas- NOLA.com
They were interested in Thomas immediately after he was released by the Miami Dolphins last week. They also visited with linebacker Dan Morgan after he was released by the Carolina Panthers. Those meetings would seem to indicate that the Saints are preparing to replace middle linebacker Mark Simoneau, a pending free agent. But then again, there is a severe shortage of attractive options at the position in free agency. |
Re: Well the Cowboys got him
what are the possibillities of trading for Keith Brooking from Atlanta? Didn't someone say earlier that he might be released as a cap casualty?
