Do y'all think we will sign Lance Briggs?

As much as I'd like it to happen, it won't.
The Saints don't make moves like that.

True, we did talk to Thomas and afford him a deal.
Brees signed with us only after Miami decided not to.

i dont think we will sign briggs, i think florence will probably be our biggest FA pick up

......and the brees signing had a huge question mark next to it. it was obviously a great signing, but it was still a huge risk at the time.

I dont think the saints will make an offer to Briggs. I could be wrong but i think the saints dont think he is worth the money he is looking for. A lot of his production could be because he played next to Brian Urlacher.

I don't see the Saints making a play for Briggs. Even if they did, I really think Briggs is going to the 49ers. He could look even better playing next to Patrick Willis, and the 49ers are not scarred of his contract demands, which is something like 20 million guaranteed, and making an average of 7 million per year. That is serious amount of money for a guy who may not play that well without having a stud playing next to him. For the 49ers it would be worth it, for the Saints, probably not.

He wanted to get out of Urlacher's shadow in Chicago so I can't see him going to San Fran playing with Willis. He wants to be the "star" of the linebacking group which he certainly would be here. However money talks... and I'm sure he'll go to the highest bidder. Mostly likely it's not going to be us... probably to Daniel Synder.

You know we have more money available than most teams and we need to start spending it. Wouldn't every Saints fam scream if we signed Briggs, Samuel, Gay, Wilson and Justin Smith on defense.

Start with our players Cher. get that out of the way now. It will make next years FA even better.
Gibril Wilson right now is becoming my #1 target. Briggs is a maybe. After that it is a mess. Nothing but questions and bunch of backups.

Sign Smith and Trade another Smith? Trade Grant? All three in rotation?
