Faine Nuts
Jeff Faine
Free agent Jeff Faine is reportedly in seach of a deal that will make him one of the NFL's highest paid centers. New Orleans turned elsewhere, inking Jonathan Goodwin to a three-year, $8.5 million pact Wednesday. Faine could interest the Steelers and Rams. |
Re: Faine Nuts
I am sure the Saints would love to have him back, but never at his asking price. In all fairness, I've read that Faine is considered the best available center. Well, now that Goodwin is back, good luck Faine.

Re: Faine Nuts
Um ... I like Faine but not for that money.

Re: Faine Nuts
Give me a break. Faine was always called out by this group. Now, he wants the big dough? Let me fly. Goodwin looks solid. My God, we just paid 8.5M for a back-up center!

Re: Faine Nuts
Well now because he is the best FA C on the market does not make him worth the money he is seeking. This is a weak FA year. Next year should be better. Thats one reason I hate to see us eat up alot of cap space this year. Good luck is all I can say.
Remember that for all the FA out there. |
Re: Faine Nuts
I like Jeff Faine...the way we got him on draft day 2 years ago worked out perfectly...but he is going to get more money than he deserves and the Saints arent going to pay it. Good luck to him wherever he lands but there is no way he will be back here.

Re: Faine Nuts
I never had a problem with Faine but holy cow...I'm good with Goodwin.

Re: Faine Nuts
I'm kind of glad they're letting him walk, not because I think he's a bad player or a guy we don't need, but simply because his asking price is more than his importance to the team. Goodwin didn't miss a beat when Faine was out and there's plenty of young talent on the line. Maybe we take a late round flyer on a center or look around in free agency for a backup.
