Just for the sake of asking...
With Micheal Boley as a RFA, what would you be willing to give ATL for him?
Me; trade Grant, with 2nd and 4th round pick. |
Re: Just for the sake of asking...
Whoa... that's a lot to be giving up. I'd throw a 3rd and maybe a conditional pick next year but that's it.

Re: Just for the sake of asking...
Restricted Free Agency doesn't quite work like that. Basically Atlanta offers Boley a certain set amount for one year and that amount determines the draft pick you have to give up to get him. The tenders are worth a first and third round pick, OR a first round pick, OR a pick in the round where he was taken (in this case, fifth round pick). The reason we got Jason David last year as an RFA (lucky us) was that Indy was almost full on the cap and so couldn't afford to tender him anything better than the lowest tender, which meant we got him for a 4th. Atlanta will probably tender Boley the first and third pick which is worth something in the neighborhood of 2 million dollars.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. |
Re: Just for the sake of asking...
I agree with papz, that's way too much for one decent talent. I still think that if Grant can get his weight under control, and we give the whole DLine a little more help (especially with the linebackers), then he'll get back on track.

Re: Just for the sake of asking...
You're right Narwal... and I'm sure they put at least a 2nd round tender on him.
Anyways... The Falcons and restricted free agent SLB Michael Boley are expected to reach terms on a contract extension "any day." The new Atlanta staff has decided to make Boley a defensive building block. If the sides don't reach an accord, Boley would have to be tendered high. Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution Would have loved to have him though. |
Re: Just for the sake of asking...
Hey, maybe we get lucky and they "forget" so we can snag him for a fifth. He'll be a FA next year! A guy can dream...
