Michael Huff

With the majority fo this board being outspoken in their distaste for Bullocks, I wonder why no one has brought up the idea of trading for Huff? It was announced a week or so ago that Oakland is willing to trade him and i figured someone here would make a case for us to do it but no one has...so i will...Young, athletic, smart, PLAYMAKER. the defense could use a guy like him and i have no idea what the Raiders would want in return but i would like to hear your opinions on whether or not this is something the saints should consider.

I don't know about "playmaker". He hasn't really lived up to his draft day hype, IMO.

Of course, when juxtaposed to Bullocks he looks like Ed Reed.

Well as Jack Burton always says...... "What the hell".

Im not saying he's an elite safety, but he's better than Bullocks that's not debatable.

I'm already sick of talking trades when FREE AGENCY just started... yeah that word FREE means a lot when you think about it. I'm really getting pissed watching the saints watch the parade go by. Samuel in Philly, Briggs in Tampa, Florence sure the heck isn't here, and any other huge name worth mentioning... but its okay... our secondary will still suck next year but we will have won the "we didn't overpay championship".

So wait...you don't have to give anything up to sign a free agent? Brilliant.

Seriously though, you're right. Get Briggs up in this piece, talk to gay and florence, pp on Shockey and keep some draft picks.

Let's not over exaggerate how good Michael Huff is. Young and athletic he may be, but smart and a playmaker? That's very debateable. He hasn't come close to living up to his ceiling coming out of UT. Oakland has been trying to unload him a year after he was drafted. Though, a change of scenery could benefit him. Now if he could be had for a 6th or 7th round pick, I'd consider it. We could then let our 3 underachieving safeties battle it out.

I understand your point Chad, but this is an extremely weak free agent class. Which means every person who is available is going to have boatloads of money thrown at them. So i wouldnt necessarily call it "free." There are pros and cons to the draft, free agency, and trades. Soemtimes, the things you are looking for may not be available in one area, so you try another area, and if you cant find it there, you end up moving up in the draft for JONATHAN SULLIVAN. So if the Saints have to make a trade to fill a need at CB or at Safety and it allows us to go into the draft free to do whatever we want, then i am all for that.
