Saints want Eric Johnson back too?
 

Found this...browsing through the NFL site....

"Eric Johnson, a free agent tight end who spent 2006 with New Orleans, wants to return to the Saints and has been told by Saints management that he is wanted back, said a person familiar with negotiations. The person asked not to be identified while talks between the team and Johnson were ongoing."

Makes sense. Best available Tight End left in free agency.

By his standards last year was pretty much injury free. He should be a cheap vet to sign.

Take him cheap, but look for a new stud in the draft. Any sleepers from small schools in later rounds?

And if we picked up him and another one in FA/Draft, how many TE's would that be on the team????

Kolo Kapanui, TE, West Texas A&M. This guy really looked good at the combine. Not overwhelming in any category but looked like he would punish an opposing linebacker to free up his RB.

I want to see Johnson back in one circumstance. If he can come in to camp and WOW his way into the starting job, great. If he is not good enough to take the starting job, cut him.

He had alot of costly drops last year. Two passes went off his hands and into a defenders hands in ONE game!


Then again, maybe the solution is to make EJ and Devery practice on different sides of the field. Stonehands may rub off on him.

The really sad thing is I really like Devery Henderson, and I still can't help but pick on him, mainly because he deserves it.

I like EJ.
He had almost 50 catches, recovered a few fumbles. Played alright when he was in, knows the system
