Update: Deuce has pushed back his roster bonus due date until April 15th giving both sides time to work out a deal:

The Saints and tailback Deuce McAllister agreed to push back his $1 million roster bonus from March 15 to April 15, giving the team a better chance to gauge his health before making any financial decisions.

IMO it's only a rumor , at least for now because I never heard or read any reports of the "cut"

To me, this sounds a lot like a few years ago when the saints drafted Deuce while Ricky was still on the roster. Replace an aging and often injured RB with a young stud replacement. If you remember back to that year, the saints had MUCH greater needs than RB, but that pick really paid off later on.

Don't get me wrong, I am in no way comparing Ricky and Deuce, but it does sound like a similar situation.

I would like the saints to fix some holes on defense, but I am also a firm believer in drafting the best talent available in the first round and worry about need in later rounds.

Not too throw too much man-love at Deuce, but WHAT A SAINT! Instead of throwing a tantrum about the front office playing Missouri (show me) with his health, instead he says, "OK, I'll show you"

No negative press. No sideways comments. Pure class. The Saints are bigger than one player, but if this front office plays him dirty after this I have to think long and hard about it.... I don't root for the bad guys. Ever.
