Looks like they're not interested in what we have to offer - or that we're not offering anything.

News is two days old... Mar. 20 - 8:36 am et
Trade talks between the Broncos and Jets involving DL Dewayne Robertson are beginning to "peter out," according to Newsday. Robertson failed his physical and Denver is strapped for cash. The team released eight operations staff members on Wednesday, including web site editor Andrew Mason, who did an excellent job. Robertson would also require a new contract if he was acquired. He may now be cut this summer Dewayne Robertson |
Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
If cut we may need to pick him up what do the B&G members think?
|
Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
Im all for giving him a shot if hes cut, but I dont like the thought of giving away any more draft picks from this years draft.
|
Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
Why indeed. I wasn't aware he had physical issues. He'll be cut for sure now, with that and the massive cap hit. Wonder what's wrong with him.
That's gotta hurt for the Jets - trading all the way up to #4 to get him, then having to cut him for nothing. |
Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
Might also be the same as why we cut Mare 'failed his physical'. Might just be a way to cut players that save cap hits or cancel a trade to hope for a better trade later on. Mare failed his physical and I read another thread he might come back in for a tryout.

Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
Robertson deal might be back on- Denver is only giving up a 'second day" draft pick.
I know we are running low on picks, but shouldn't we consider a fifth for him? Jets, Broncos may finally swing deal for Robertson - Sports Rumors - NFL - Yahoo! Sports |
Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
I dunno - depends on a number of factors. First and foremost - what's his physical status? We know he failed a physical - but I don't know why. Second, what's his contract situation? He's a massive cap casualty if he doesn't renegotiate.
I was hot and heavy on trading for him - that is until I heard about the physical. |
Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
Both knees are in question. How bad? got me. The Jets did a good job of covering it up but the cat is out of the bag now. More than one team has passed on him. I bet Vilma has a lot to say as to whether or not he is even considered.

Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
I'd never give up a draft pick for him. If they cut him sign him
|
Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
Well, it's all a moot point now. The Broncos signed him for an undisclosed number of draft picks a few hours ago.

Re: Jets trying to trade away Dewayne Robertson
its a 2009 conditional pick
