SLEEPER PICK - WR BRUCE HOOKER - Duquesne

JUST A THOUGHT... Is this guy the next Marques Colson? Is he worth a 7th round pick. Like the kids height and speed ratio.

The NFL Draft Site: Small School Studs for the 2008 NFL Draft
Wide Receiver Bruce Hocker from Duquesne has a lot of NFL Scouts' attention. He is the complete package with butter soft hands, nice size at 6' 3" 206 pounds and decent speed, he has been clocked as fast as 4.44 in the forty. After breaking his collar bone as a sophomore he came back strong last season as a junior (2006) and accumulated 1,070 receiving yards with 16 touchdowns. This year as a senior (2007) he has seen almost constant double teams, but after playing nine games, with one left to play, he has made 48 receptions for 625 yards and 8 touchdowns

Consensus All-American joined current Cleveland Browns cornerback Leigh Bodden (1999-02) as just the second player in school history to earn Associated Press and American Football Coaches Association All-America honors as a junior ... is expected to once again contend for national honors in 2007 ... is one of the most productive players at the FCS level ... his 17.8 yards per catch career average is the best among FCS returnees ... the only thing that has prevented that average from being even higher is the end zone as one of every 4.5 of his career catches has gone for a score (108 career catches for 1,927 yards and 24 TDs) ... his 24 career touchdowns and 80.3 career yards per game rank second among all returning FCS receivers.

As a junior (2006):
came back from a broken collarbone that limited him to three games played as a sophomore to catch 61 passes for 1,070 yards and 16 touchdowns ... led the nation in receiving yards per game (107.0), touchdown catches (tied for first with 16) and points per game by a receiver (9.6) ... also tied for 13th in receptions per game (6.1) ... averaged 17.5 yards per catch ... caught at least one touchdown pass in nine of 10 games on his way to tying the school record of 16 TD receptions set by Reggie Harris in 2000 ... in the only game he did not record a TD (Sept. 30 vs. West Liberty State), he caught seven passes for a career-high 177 yards ... had multiple touchdown catches in six games ... became just the fifth player in DU history to top 1,000 receiving yards in a season ... was one of nine FCS pass-catchers with over 1,000 yards in 2006 ... topped the 100-yard mark five times and had two games with 10 or more catches (10-125-1 at Fordham and 11-131-2 vs. Iona) ... saw his first three catches go for scores as he finished with four receptions for 61 yards in a 41-10 win over Saint Francis.
