Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

New Orleans Saints - Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Monday that the club has signed unrestricted free agent cornerback Aaron Glenn.

Lets see if the old man can play dime. Hey, it's a CB. The team needs CB's in a bad way.

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Monday that the club has signed unrestricted free agent cornerback Aaron Glenn...
hes a 14 year veteran, so hes not a young CB but he can come in and help out a little .... 5-9, 183-pound first-round draft choice of the New York Jets in 1994 out of Texas A&M,... I really like this move this could help us a lot..... so i guees that means that Rivers is going to be the 10th pick yes!!!!

Oh please... camp body. Not going to make impact. 35 years old. Key words was he is familar with the coaching staff... its a Jamie Martin signing. Give a friend a job and hide him on the roster.

Re: Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

Not sure how much he's going to contribute given his age and the fact he played in only 5 games last year. What he does bring if he sticks with us is knowledge that can help our young corners improve. Usama, David, and whoever we might draft can learn a lot from this guy... hopefully they take advantage of Glenn and pick his brain.

I just hope we do not repeat last year by keeping a vet on the rooster that never sees the field and cutting a young buck.

This will not impact the draft at all not even sure if he will make the team. they still need to draft a CB in the 1st or 2nd round or trade for one.

Damn, I am getting old.
I remember when we needed a CB back in '94 and everyone kept talking about drafting Glenn then. (We got Joe Johnson with the next pick).

This move is bad news if your first name is Jason.

Re: Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

Let's give Marcus a call!
Glenn played on the same team as safety Marcus Coleman three times, 1996-2001 for the Jets, 2002-2004 for the Texans, and 2006 for the Dallas Cowboys.
:)

Welcome Aaron Glenn to Forrest Lawn Resting Place, just show your AARP card and sign here for social security benefits. This is not good but what do I know?

Re: Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

Yep, I saw that. I wonder why only 5 games played last year? Did he get hurt, was he getting burned like JD? We'll see.

Ok, a vet to help the young guys take the next step. Will see.

5'9", 36 yo, in fact two years older than the secondary coach. Our answers are questioned?

He is still a upgrade over Jason David.

I will put money that Glen doesn't beat our JD... you want some of that action Patdog???

Re: Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

Don't care for this move. Hopefully it is to throw other teams off on our draft selection. Why we keep bringing in old vets that don't pan out is beyond me. Ambrose,TeBucky,David,Craft, (Although he's not bad if he's not manned up). Just don't get it.

patdog 04-08-2008 02:31 PM

Re: Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

Only reason he wouldn't beat out JD is $$$.

Euphoria 04-08-2008 02:50 PM

Re: Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

$$$ whats that got to do with it. Best player starts or higher on the depth chart. Simple. JD beat him out what do you say... care to back up the BS you said?

The problem is that people fail to see what really happened to our D it wasn't just JD's fault. I don't pat him on the back but I am not going to put all the fault on him either.

Re: Saints Sign CB Aaron Glenn

This only strengthens my opinion that they intend to draft a corner in the 1st, thus making Glenn a mentor to the young man.
