...i am the first one to express my annoyance with the members of this site complete obsession with players from LSU (this is a SAINTS site not LSU site) but, i really think that jacob hester could be a nice pick up in the late rounds.

he will never play RB in the NFL and he will be no more than a back up or west coast style FB, but he just seems to be an all and all football player that will find some way to contribute to the team.

i could see him being an special teams maniac, as well as an interesting weapon to put in the backfield. he is a good enough blocker to clear some lanes or pick up a rush, but has the hands and speed to make him a good recieving FB.

again...i can't believe i am actually feeding into the LSU frenzy on this site!

im a huge lsu fan but the only tiger i want on our team is dorsey.. everyone else is a lil overrated in my opinion... hester is a warrior but i dont think he makes any impact except on special teams..
we dont need early and highsmith is dropping like a rock.. i figured he would b/c of his size but his 40 times were really surprising to me...

i dont want dorsey cuz he played at LSU i want him b/c he is the best DT prospect to come out in years and IMO our greatest need is at the DT spot where we have a bunch of midlevel players....

Completely apathetic about LSU here, although living where I do it would be nice to here about something other than the almighty, unbeatable, incomparable SEC.

Aside from that rant, I think Hester would be awesome on ST. Total reckless abandon on coverage, lights out style blocker on returns. Maybe we sign him as a TE? Didn't we start last year with 4 or 5 TE's anyway?

I guess I am a partial VT fan because they get alot of coverage in our area. Was a Hawaii fan because of Brennan. Not many of VT players I think we should try for except Adibi and Hall. But can't really judge the offensive side of the ball because poor QB play. OT Duane Brown will be a good player, rotational or starter in a couple of years.

I am not a huge LSU fan and really only follow them when they are winning.

The one thing about LSU players that frustrates me is that how many go off to be NFL Pro, Hall of Famers and NFL Legends? A LOT!!! The Saints always seem to miss the boat on these guys and the damn school is right down the freakin' road!!!

Personally, I think Hester could be the "next" Mike Alstott(sp?). Make him the bruiser in a two back offense, and he would be very effective.

Me too Hagan.We used to get tickets for $1.50 when I was in high school when they started playing in the dome and we loved it. They even sold us beer and we were 16 and 17 but of course the drinking age was 18 so if you looked 18 you got beer. Those were the days Geaux Green Wave

The price to get into High School games in NO was 3 bucks... what does that say about Tulane, LOL.

Just kidding... I root for any La. team. Root for them more when they are doing well of course. I also like to see a good Tulane upset over LSU from time to time. But we unite for our beloved Saints.

UNO grad here, had a girl in my computer sci class maybe the Saints could pickup, 6.2 and 325 lb with a mean streak.

I am Tulane alumni, though I root for LSU more than I do for my own team (though no one can take away that awesome kicka$$ wonderful 11-0 season averaging 56 points per game under Shaun King - that was MAGIC!).

But does anyone remember the old stadium on Claiborne? What a place to see a game! I wish it was still there. They tore it down and turned it into graduate and married housing. But it all really went down when all the games moved to the Superdome, IMO.

oh yeah loved the old stadium. i was there when the wave beat LSU. LOL once in a life time experience.
Spent a lot of time on campus as a kid. Swam for the AAU team there.

There is some good value in later rounds, but I agree that the LSU fixation is out of control.
