Why the Saints will draft McFadden

All the talk about Miami's flirtations with the Long brothers ( Jake & Chris) is just that. The Dolphins will take Glenn Dorsey with the 1st pick in the draft. St. Louis, looking to replace someone they haven't been able to replace since Grant Wistrom will then take Chris Long from Virginia. Does anyone doubt the Atlanta Falcons biggest need? They will take Matt Ryan of Boston College.
The taking of two defensive linemen will cause the Raiders to look at the draft board & think that if they wait in a later round for a solid defensive lineman there may not be one when they pick next. They will respond by taking Cedrick Ellis who the experts have been touting as just as good as Dorsey. Warren Sapp who was disappointing for them retired after last season & having a USC product playing for Al Davis would make his day.
This will leave Kansas City in a surprisingly good position for what they covet. They love big physical offensive linemen, but have many holes to fill across there team. Herman Edwards wants to do the Jets no favors also. The Chiefs will be looking to trade down with someone, but not too far. The Saints will jump when the asking price becomes low enough. The Chiefs want McFadden out of their conference & certainly not on the Jets. The price of number 10 & a third rounder will be too sweet for Sean Peyton to turn down.

The same reason we aren't drafting a CB with the 10th pick is the same reason we aren't drafting a RB early in the draft either. To many bodies, and to much money going to that position to draft another high price player.

Another reason Dolphins aren't drafting Dorsey... contract talks going on with Long and the Dolphins to secure there pick will be in camp on time and no hold outs.

Re: Why we won't draft McFadden- he won't be there

The Chiefs want McFadden out of their conference? Of all the "what-ifs" in that post, that one stuck out the most. I think Edwards has bigger concerns than screwing over his former team that he only plays against once every 4 years.
