this pretty much proves what i was talking about in my other post....if mcfadden is available at 10...he will be a saint...however...what if stewart or mendenhall is ranked very high on the gm's draft board...that would be interesting as well

I'm cool with BPA, but please....please don't let it be another freakin' RB! This draft is way too deep at the position to draft one in the 1st round....unless that RB is McFadden.

No RB will be the BPA at 10 so we are safe. Now in the other rounds that maybe true

AGREED!!!

Mcfadden won't be there at 10 and no other RB is the BPA at 10. So we won't be drafting a RB.

I still think that if McFadden is there you take the abundance of picks and trade offers that you will receive for someone to trade up and get him. I dont see him there however. Mendenhall would be fine with me at 10. Most have him rated higher than Stewart (although I think Stewart will be the better pro).

i think that is a great idea....if mcfadden falls it would almost be better not to draft him and instead take a trade offer that will inevitably be there...thats IF he does fall....i just think that the stance that mickey loomis has proposed is that if mcfadden is there...we will draft him rather than trade the spot

the more i think about it....the more i think rivers will go to the patriots or a team that wants him and trades to 7....even tho he would be a safe pickup...i dont think its realistic...most of the top 9 teams could use a linebacker.....however.....running back is not a major issue for ne of the top 9 teams....granted most mocks have him going to the raiders....i think the raiders will use their pick on another need

it's not possible to know who is going to be the best player available, that has been proven since the beginning. Tom Brady, Colston, etc. etc. I wish the team would just stick with their needs, eventually it's going to be filled with a good kid.

Your draft needs to be a combination of drafting for need and drafting BPA. Drafting for need often forces your hand to reach for a player and subsequently pay a player that you could have gotten later in the draft and for less money and also pick up additional picks. Drafting on BPA alone results in players that do not get the snaps needed to maximize their value and results in too much money invested in one position. You draft for need with the idea in mind that some players if they drop and are BPA are too good to pass up (Reggie Bush, Will Smith, Deuce McAllister). You can not justify that if a team has one glaring need at TE and are in the top 15 that they select the best TE in the draft when they good and well could have him in the 2nd round.
