yawn. I never was that impressed with his player evaluation. He did have some good stories.

Re: Kenny Wilkerson departs WWL radio's sports team
I guess it got kind of hard for him to report anything after he got those guys fired for feeding him inside info. I never could stand the guy and he was a real jerk in person...if any of you know him, tell him i said that.

I don't know him, never met him. But I always liked the guy, looked forward to his interviews. I'm suprised to hear he was a jerk. Maybe I mis-evaluated him. I already said I never new him, I admit that.
But I'm bummed out. I'll kinda miss the guy. |

At least he was better than Karee Johnson who is a true jerk. I still miss the grand father of New Orleans sports, Buddy D.

Re: Kenny Wilkerson departs WWL radio's sports team
I'll miss Kenny on WWL - he was by far the most articulate and had the best voice of the bunch (it must be some kind of prerequisite for their sports analysts to have some sort of speech impediment), and he had some good stories, especially about Buddy D. But I always thought he was way too soft on the Saints and gushed over players who weren't exactly in top gear out there - he probably got way too close to the players he was supposed to be objectively reporting on.
Since he's been out often lately, I'm finding that I'm changing the station from Sports Talk, mainly because they keep shoving Deke Bellavia at me and they can't tone down Bobby Hebert. Don't get me wrong, I was a big fan of Bobby when he played, but his "Yes, yes, yes, no, no, no" is not giving me much sports commentary expertise. And for some reason, the station finds more and more air-time for the Big Chief, but his commentary is terrible and his interview tactics are brutal (he pounces on callers who have different opinions), and that voice is made for K-Mart intercoms, not the Sports giant, WWL. Oh, Buddy D . . . where did they go wrong? |
