Vilma's work has been 'positive'
Vilma's work has been 'positive'- NOLA.com
He's participating in half a practice, seven-on-seven drills, and it's been very good," Payton said. "It's been real positive so far." The Saints hope Vilma, 26, will prove to be the kind of inside playmaker the defense can build around for years to come. Vilma said the scheme he's mastering with the Saints is similar to that run by the Jets in his first two years in the league. Vilma said he feels ready to go full speed full time, but that would be ahead of schedule. The limited action to date is the result of an agreement he reached with Payton. "It's been exciting, to come from rehab and the surgery and get to this point," Vilma said. "We're being cautious, of course, that's to be expected, but it looks pretty good at this point." |

Funny that they have him on the second team. Simmoneau was reported to miss because of hip problem. I wonder how is starting?

Marvin Mitchell? Again, its only OTA's.

Re: Vilma's work has been 'positive'
He does not need the reps like the others. he needs mental work more. Take your time and make sure he is ready. The entire defense rests on him being healthy. He is the defensive captain we have been missing. Ok I think of him as our defensive savior.

I hope he goes to the probowl.

Re: Vilma's work has been 'positive'
Screw the probowl. He'll get a broken leg in that thing. Neither do I want Brees participating in that damn thing anymore.
I'm with you Hagan, my hopes for the defense reside with Vilma. Not to belittle anyone else (Smith, Ellis, etc), but Vilma could and -should- be that captain we've been missing. |
