Not welcome in philadelphia
Went to the Linc Sunday with an Eagle fan great seats on the 10yd line two rows in on the Saints sideline. Was there in all my Black & Gold with a sea of
green fans. Some of our boys warming up on the side looked at me and nodded and probably thought I wouldn't be alive by the end of the game. As the game went totally our way the comments starting raining down. The only ones I can write in this forum were "go back to the swamp" "hope you drown" well you get the picture. On the way out ran into a few other black jersey's, needles to say we stuck together through the gates. It is no joke The Philly fans are brutal, even worse when the game was a blowout. Brees has got to be the best QB in Saints history, just pray he stays healthy. Also liked the looks of Mike Bell this guy slams the holes. And I think we finally have a good defensive coordinator saw a lot of improvement in the game adjustments. Still have a ways to go but the gap is closing. I will tell you that Rail-Boss was happy to get out of there alive! |
Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
Philly fans are a perfect example of whats seriously wrong with Pro sports today.
Perhaps its just a sad reflection of what our nation is becoming, but I just can't imagine abusing a fan of another team at a sporting event. Those people suck. WTF has happened to sportmanship in this nation? |
Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
I've been on the receiving end of that unwarranted aggression in Seattle and it's disgusting. I don't understand why imbeciles attack people that have no effect on the outcome of the game. I don't coach, I don't play. I'm just a fan that wants to enjoy a sporting event and if I'm to be accosted when I do go then I'll save the big money that it takes to leave my tiny village to watch the game live and watch the game in my home.
Sorry about that. I'm still tense from being without B&G the last couple of days. |
Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
I went to their fan website and got banned for posting this picture.

I was at the skins game last year. For the most part the guys around me were pretty nice. It did get tense though when i stood up and shouted on meachems touchdown and bushs punt return. I'm going again this year. Wish me(us) luck.

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
I lived up there for a time. For the "City of Brotherly Love" they seem to take hate to a level that all of us down here don't understand.

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
i really hate philly. their teams and their ppl are just crap...visited once, won't ever return.

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
I went to the Chicago game last year and the trash talking was on from the start when people saw my Colston jersey but I'd never back down so I cheered and hollared and showed it in their faces every time we scored.
But I agree you shouldn't have to defend yourself just because you like different teams. A little teasing and ribbing is fine by me. Still its not a problem at all in the NFL compared to the soccer over here. Those people are killing each other. |
Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
Maybe they need to bring the stadium jail back -- they could name it after Vick.

Just another reason why I hate everything about Philly. Check this out

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
There's nothing wrong with Philly that a gamma Ray burst wouldn't cure. One shouldn't be surprised by cretinous behaviour - if all one has is the reptillian brain, that's the limit of one's potential as a human being. Be thankful that crowd doesn't know how to find NO on a map.

In other words...if you were in Philly and the Saints were blowing out the Eagles, and fans were hollering at you because you were donning the black and gold...would you stand up and holler back at them, "Hey...you suck!"? No big deal, Danno, and I'm not trying to pick a fight with you...but come on. People drink and raise hell at a football game. I think it's all in good fun as long as there is no violence...that's where I draw the line. |

I grew up in South Jersey, and I simply can not stand their fans. Their always going to the superbowl. I am soooo happy we stomped them, plus my entire family are fans too

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
I live not far from Philly. The last time the Saints were in town I went to the game. I had my Jersey and hat on. I went with a bunch of Eagles fans. Walking through the parking lot I got threatned with I am gonna kick your a__ and I am gonna kill you if you walk by here again. By the time I left me jersey and hat were in my backpack. I would never take my kid there to see a game. They are horrible.

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
I have to say guys, that being from England I have lived with fan aggression in sports for most of my life. Opposing 'fans' even text and arrange meeting points around the area to have a fight (this is mainly in soccer) Some of my colleagues even tried to tell me it was honourable to fight for your team. I cannot repeat how the discussion went but suffice it to say they were shocked at my venom. (I am normally a laid back kind of joker at work) The second game I saw at the 'Dome was against Atlanta and there I was with 5 other Saints fans in a sea of red shirted Falcons fans. Say what you like about the Falcons but that day I saw what true opposing fans are like. Friendly rivalry and a handshake after the game. I have been to eight games and every opposing fan I've met has been fine. Over here, there is always an undercurrent of hostility and wearing the wrong shirt would get the crap knocked out of you. Under no circumstances are the fans allowed to mix. Nothing wrong with having a shouting match as long as it is in good humour. Unfortunately, humour seems to take a back seat over here when soccer is concerned.

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
where at in sj spkb? (probably had this conversation before) I spent most of my life in south jersey, salem county. I'm a Philly fan for everything but football. Let's not generalize, yeah there are some real bastards out there, but we aren't all like that.

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
Dano is right no excuse for people to take it to this level. Let the players on the field fight it out. People are just people and to take it to a fan with violence or the threat thereof just does not make any sense. European or world football as stated by SaintGup and the violence that is associated with that sport is a disgrace almost as a War between people and I hope our national sport never goes this low.

Re: Not welcome in philadelphia
WOW Did any of them play in the game ??? or was that the Eagles that played. Crazy stuff right there.
Before a Saints game I put my jersey on watch the game. After the game I take it off and hang it back up in the closet till next week Win or lose. |
