No no, that would be Reggie's jock. Canton isn't really a Mike Bell fan. He's a rabid Reggie fan. He is against anyone that threatens Reggie's status and playing time. Since Pierre is surrently the biggest threat, that's who he is trying to marginalize. He's been making excuses, excuses, excuses for Reggie from day 1. Even when Reggie doesn't play, he makes excuses against whomever is playing. The remark about the Bills defense being worn down is the weakest, most spiteful remark I've ever heard from a Saints fan. I'm glad our players don't act like that. Reggie, Pierre, and Heath are good friends (not sure about Mike and Lynell), and they strongly support each other. That's the way it's supposed to be.

First, in order for someone to win something, someone else has to lose it... Second, Bell didn't win anything. PT had an injury and was inactive for 2 games. That is why Bell started the first 2 games. Had PT been healthy, he would've been on the field against Detroit and Philly.

no way....i figured he just wasnt good enough to play.....im not as stupid as you think.....i know why PT didnt play.....i know why bell got the start

but that doesnt mean that bell couldnt have earned the spot.....PT didnt get a chance to defend his spot(title) and when a boxer cant defend his title he has to give it up to an interim champ......bell is currently the interim champ until PT proves he deserves it back

Looks like the interim champ (Bell) couldn't defend his title, and PT earned it back...in a huge way.

perhaps.....but 14 carries is hardly enough to be labeled a starter......now the coaching staff may feel thats enough when bell returns but for now thats still up in the air

Re: Best Saints Running Back

Sure it was only 14 carries, but he averaged 9 YPC and two scores to Bell's one in two games. I'd say that pretty much got his job back. And do you seriously think Bell starting one extra game solidifies a starting job? Wait...Don't answer that. I know the answer already.

Oh, yeah...If you want to get really down to it. Bell's 143 yard performance was against the Lions. And 138 of his 229 yards all came in the second half against "tired, worn down defenses".

Why? Do you like the taste of crow? I'll send you some Tony Chachere's to spice it up a little for ya.

Maybe it's this?

Just a thought.

Just to reiterate: running back by committee, with the healthiest guy getting most of the carries. If everyone is healthy, then PT23 as the starter, Bell as the backup. Reggie is his regular spot. But after that TD run in Philly, Reggie may actually earn more carries.

Good call. Those don't need any Tony's. They seem to be spicy enough!

That video had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes
and here I was depressed about getting divorced a 2nd time and leave it up to you guys to cheer me up

but seriously
Both bell and PT play hard. And no one can take anything away from either of them.
I think are both equally effective in there own way and personally I'm glad both are playing for us.
I would like to see the two of them rotated in games like Denver does with there backs

Well said. I like Bell a lot. It is no secret that I like PT more, but I would be perfectly fine with them splitting carries with Bush/Hamilton/Evans getting a few here and there, too. The Saints have one of the deepest pools of talent at RB in the league. A nice rotation can keep everyone fresh, and hopefully injury-free when Bell comes back.

Question: Who do you like better, the one in the red or black shorts?

I'd take them both

PT had some super holes to run thru on those long runs... watch the film.... the blocking was excellent.. and against a nickle package... we took what the D gave us... not bashing PT and the job he did.. but all the credit goes to the Oline on most of those plays.. he wasnt touched until the secondary
