Irresistible Force, Immovable Object

We have a great NFL game coming this week. It could be a modern classic, depending on what happens to the Saints and Jets the remainder of the season.

The Saints have been the "irresistible force", the Jets have been the "immovable object" so far this season. I want to call on your collective memories to try and determine who usually wins that battle.

All that comes to my mind right now are the 1985? Bears vs the Dolphins, and the 2007 Pats vs Giants in the Super Bowl.

The Bears had one of the best defenses ever up to that time. The Miami Dolphins had a great QB and were largely a "finesse" team. I think they won that game handily.

The Giants had a very good if not great defense, and the Pats were expected to roll over them like a Ford over a rooster. The defense won most of the battles, enabling a pedestrian Giant offense to make heroic plays and pull off the win.

The score is:

Offense 1
Defense 1

What other great match ups come to mind, and did the offensive team win, or the defensive?

Tampa Bay VS. Oakland- Tampas Defense was ranked number 1 and they won that game. Not sure what Oaklands offense was ranked.

Tennesee and their god-awful QB moved 17 points against the Jets' immovable object. Yes, the Jets played well against NE, but let's hold off on giving them a nickname or comparing them to the 85 Bears or Ravens.

Brees is not Kerry "one too many" Collins, and has seen blitzes before. Watch the short passes and screens Sunday. We have too many weapons, and Drew rarely is held in check 2 games in a row.

oh geez, yes... duh... The Eli Super Bowl.

ok... here's my excuse. I think of the Pats as a red team. I think of the Eli Super Bowl as a blue super bowl.

thats the best I can come up with.
