Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
By the second quarter all we could do is laugh.

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
He was pointing out that the Jets defense was good, but I have to admit he was pouring it on... and the Jets were losing.
Once it became painfully obvious that the Saints would win, he started fanning the farts our way. I dunno... it's just like that even in college nowadays. |
Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
As soon as I walked into work this morning that was the first thing out of everyone's mouth. Not, "Did you see the win?" But, "What the hell is up with Dierdorf?" Let me know I'm not just imagining things because I'm a die-hard fan.

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
Dierdorf has been in my top 5 for most hated announcers for quite a long time, dating back to MNF. How this guy keeps a job is beyond me. He needs a bib around his neck to catch all the knob-slobber that was coming from his mouth when he spoke about Darrelle Revis and the Jets.

Dierdorf and Peter King Salty Ball lickers

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
They are CBS announcers. CBS does the AFC.What did you expect?

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
As with any Saints game I expect a lack of love from the talking heads, but Dierdorf really poured it on. Of course, him and Gumball have done all of the Jets games this year. Maybe he has a man-crush on Dirty Sanchez.

Reavis is a good corner but according to Dierdorf you would of thought we was already in the HOF

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
Think CBS can't broadcast a game... you should see their news.

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
Dirty Sanchez, LMFAO... Yeah, Deardork and Gumball were pretty horrible, but it didn't really bother me that much. I thought Aikman and Buck were a little too giddy on the Eagles a couple weeks ago, but oh well. Probably one of the best in the business is Kenny Albert but he sure annoys the heck out of me. I do like the way Chris Myers calls a game.

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
Dierdorf definitely was over the top yesterday. He kept commenting on how good the Jets defense was playing (and they were good), but no mention of how well the Saints defense played (i.e. two defensive scores, and only allowed 10 points). Pretty pathetic.

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
I loved it when he was talking about all Sanchez needed to do is get a score and they'd be in good position right as he threw his second pick :o)

I don't get the "salty taste in his mouth" question...could you please explain?

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
Speaking of sports commentators...I have a question. (I know the answer...I just like to play games. :))
There is a sports announcer/analyst who is conspicuously missing this year. He is/was brash and arrogant...hardly letting his guest have a moment to talk. He was also an NFL veteran who never really made it big. Any guesses who I'm talking about? |
Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
It's his job to play up the AFC. If I was a washed up ex-player, I would follow the script for a paycheck as well.

Re: Do you think Dierdorf has a salty taste in his mouth?
Playing devil's advocate:
- holding the Saints' offense to 3 points in the first 3 quarters is pretty dang impressive. What Dierdorf was saying was that despite Sanchez's critical mistakes, the Jets were still in it thanks to their defense. - stopping the Saint's offense twice on 4th down (and a goal line stand from first and goal inside the 5) is dang impressive. - Sanchez has looked brilliant at times and is already an impressive team leader. It's reasonable to expect him to grow into a very good NFL QB. Overall, the Jets are a good team and played well on defense, and will probably only get better. They just got beaten by a better team. |
