Power Rankings make sense only if no one ever put their butts on the field. Since there will be a champion determined on the pitch, giving any attention whatsoever to them is pure testament to a desire to waste time, energy and productivity.

But I sure do love abusing those who do.

Power ranking have a very substantial place in the hearts of many NFL fans from Tuesday - Saturday. With exception to a few times on Thursday and Saturday. And Thanksgiving. And the playoffs. And Superbowl and offseason.

But I love them from Tuesday - Saturday.:mrgreen:

The ranking I don't really care about, but I do enjoy the writer's comments about each team. Its an enjoyable read.

Which is a bigger waste of time? Reading power rankings? Or posting about how much of a waste of time they are? Or spending significant time reading and posting opinions on a football forum? ;)

Humans have this unique sociologic prediliction to abuse those who engage in rediculous behaviour in order to rid the society of that behavior. Rather than simply kill those who engage in intellectually Darwinian activities as many other species do, we find it beneficial to try to herd the outliers back into the pack. Think of me as your personal sherpa, there to whack your nose when you do something stupid. I must point out that you could opt for the alternative.
