Dare we say it now?
After a quick peek at the remaining schedule, is it inconceivable that our beloved Saints could actually go undefeated? To be fair and impartial, there are games that could get us,...but is it not indeed now possible in light of the team's success? They do have Heath Evans and Dave Thomas, both former Pats who played on that 18-1, almost 19-0 team. Perhaps they learned something from that experience and can help the Saints reach that milestone.

Re: Dare we say it now?
I did look at the schedule and right now things are looking good. Still, 6 games against the division, so it could get crazy very quick. Right now New England appears to be the toughest opponent, but truth be told, pretty meaningless in the big picture. If the Saints take care of the division, things should be nice in the end.

Re: Dare we say it now?
If there's even a hint that you don't think it's time to start thinking, then you should act on that feeling. Has a 5-0 Saints team ever done anything?
Keep that in mind until February 10, 2010. |
Re: Dare we say it now?
I want our boys to stay hungry, and worry about every game like it is important, because it is.

Re: Dare we say it now?
I hope we remain grounded and focus for the Miami game. I'd hate for the Miami game to become a trap game... it's a perfect spot for it. We definitely should enjoy the win but take it in stride... it's a long season.

Re: Dare we say it now?
Papz I am with you, but if it does happen- it could be a good thing. Only meaning if we get big heads it might be good for us to get grounded and learn a leson, and to learn it early. Plus if we are going to drop one let it be on the road before Atlanta comes to our house.

Re: Dare we say it now?
I'd settle for a Super Bowl berth. Going 16-0 would be a lot of pressure going into the playoffs but, we're looking strong. I just think there's a reason it's only been done once, it's highly improbable that we go 16-0 but at this point, home field advantage throughout the playoffs is in reasonable reach.
Home field in the playoffs is gonna be huge for the Saints. Anytime the Saints have been decent on defense, the Saints have been tough in the Dome. Saints look solid. Well prepared, well coached, and the leadership to keep things going. This is the best I've ever felt about a Saints team including the teams from the late 80's early 90s. |
Re: Dare we say it now?
Naugh... you have to lose one playing the scrubs in the 16th game.

Re: Dare we say it now?
I don't know if they can win all the games, but I do believe they can be favorites going into every game.

Re: Dare we say it now?
Like PAPZ one week at a time. I would ALMOST prefer a loss or 2, just to let guys know what happens when each player doesn't carry his load. Winning is contageous, and it feels pretty good, but all would be for nought if we burn up the regular season then have a lull during the real season. Give me Miami in February: 18-0, 15-3, or 13-5, the numbers that lead to Miami don't even matter.

Re: Dare we say it now?
Above all the team needs to stay grounded and I think they are doing so. I do not think losing teaches you anything unless the team is suffering from a swelled head then you deserve a loss. More so is that you got outplayed or a bounce does not go your way, the ball slips out of your hand or whatever. Things are going to happen and how much harder would it be to be like New England and win them all but one. OUCH! I think the possibility is there that we may not go without a loss. Do I want us to be the second team to win all + the big one (Bet Your Arse) I am worried about our division first and NFC next. If we are going to lose I sure hope it will be an AFC team.

Re: Dare we say it now?
No matter how soft the Bucs and Panthers, sweeping the division is a very, very difficult thing to do.

that's a lot of un-hatched eggs you are counting

Re: Dare we say it now?
I'm still not willing to predict a perfect season ( how did that work out for the Patriots?) I'm looking for home field advantage, if we can get that then the Superbowl is possible. But that is still a long time away and I'm looking at Miami as a possible stumbling block...Let's not forget the Falcons won Sunday and only have one loss.
