Making Room on the Bandwagon?
OK. So now that the Saints have made their 'statement' and beaten one of the sports analyst's powerhouse teams handily, the tone around the league has changed to "the Saints are for real". You can see the change in the favoring winds like you do every year and 'fans' are not only starting to take notice, but they're also getting behind our beloved Saints because it appears they're suddenly the flavor of the month.
My question to the long suffering faithful is this: Do you make room on the wagon for others to ride and welcome them with open arms, or do you make it clear that fair weather fans aren't welcome on this ride and they need to latch onto another hot team? Your thoughts gang. |

Jump on all you want just don't block my ice chest!!

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
Every time a new Saints hat is purchased, another Cowboy fan dies...

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
I could care less if the media jumps on the bandwagon or not. No one gave the Saints a chance this year. When one of their "babies" suffers a beat down, they finally get with the program. As I stated in another post, there is no room for them on our bandwagon. GET OFF!

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
it really doesn't make a difference
in a sea of black and gold are you really going to be able to pick out the new comers? |
Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
As a saint fan, how many times have you pulled for some other team in the playoffs? I don't know about y'all but I wanted Eli and Giants to beat the 18-0 Pats almost as bad as I wanted us to beat the Giants Sunday.
Plus, the city needs the bandwagoners, too. For example, my buddy who came down with me to the game this weekend didn't really have an NFL team that he pulled for. It was his first trip to NO and not only is he a new fan of the team, he has fallen in love with the city New Orleans. So I say hop on, there's plenty of room. |
Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
Depends on what team they dumped to become Saints fans .... if it was the Cowboys then NO bus is full

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
I saw plenty of Giants fans in the quarter so after the Saints put a whooping on the other team, their fans can go spend their money as well .... win win if you ask me
|
Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
Let them on if they want to pull for our Saints...who knows maybe they will become full time fans not just fair weather. Fans have to start liking a team at some point to become fans. If they stay fans then that's great, if not we won't miss them. I welcome all would be Saints fans to the fold.

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
Like I tell everyone, once your on, your on. There is no getting off to get back on. Once the train leaves.... holla!!!!!!

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
You bet they're welcome. Especially if they're already in Saints territory. Bear in mind every new fan could also become a new tourist. Its great to
see Saints stuff popping up in SE Texas. I stop to get gas now on the way back to Houston from the game, and people see my jersey and they want to talk Saints. Its gonna be really great to see more WhoDat fever hit NW Louisiana, especially with the Cowboys disappointing. This has been years overdue in NWLA. I sure hope everybody in Mississippi has their black and gold on. MS fans have been outstanding in their support, and had a hand in saving the team for N.O. Now if Houston merchants and media would pull their heads out of their ***** and realize how many WhoDAts there are here. . . Its ridiculous how they've always catered to Cowboys fans, but virtually ignored us, and I think we outnumber them here now. Welcome to the Saints Wagon. This winning business is new territory, but we've always found ways to have fun, and we've always Believed. |

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
mixed feelings here, but i do like to hear all the donkey fans up here talk about our SAINTS ! What the hell JUMP ON
|
Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
Let them all come they will be with us as long as our spotlight is on. Just remember when the wagon ride is over the Who Dat's will always bear the scars. We are also not used to being in this position so it will probably take a while to figure it out. You also have to think about Glanville when he said the NFL means Not For Long.

Now I see him on tv, and he's a complete hoot! He reminds me of the friend everybody has in school, with the smarta$$ grin, who gets you in trouble. He's awesome, and I think a truly nice guy too. Besides I like all Mormons. Anyone who can go around without drinking beer, chewing tobacco, & shooting guns has special magical powers in my book. How do you do that??? He really started changing in my opinion when, I think it was Terrell Owens who was standing in the endzone w/ him after a score, and was trying to teach Young how to "get his groove on," and so you had Young looking at T.O, trying to do this funky dance, with a really goofy look, and it just made him look 10 times whiter than he already is..... it was hilarious. I love that video. Steve Young's a good guy. And besides, you know his head hurts, because of the Saints--- true story. Our guys gave him concussions. |

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
We welcome everyone in Nawlings so the more the better. Still a long road ahead but what a joy to see this team get some good press. I still think we will not capture the eyes of the football world until we capture the ultimate prize and it will take a few years to really win people over by producing a solid team over a long period. There have been a lot of teams that are one year wonders only to fall from grace the very next year and be nothing again.

Re: Making Room on the Bandwagon?
I welcome anybody on the wagon right now. If they jump on after the Saints win the Superbowl then I doubt their character and will be disappointed with them.
I made it out of my village earlier this week and went to Anchorage and visited the best sports shop there to find some Saints stuff. I have never seen so much Saints items there so it was nice. The guy working there said that Saints stuff is selling like crazy. I'm leery of band-wagoners. I became a Saints fan in spite of band-wagoners but sure, I'll slide over and let them on. |
