Interesting Stat
Ok, I'm eyeing the Kool-Ade like a slovering hound, but this is more than a trend.
The Saints' D opposing QBs have an average rating of 54.6, best in the league, even though they give up 11th best in yardage allowed. 5 tds allowed (4th), 13 INT's (T1), and 14 sacks (T16) and 52.4% completion rate (1st). With average pressure, our defensive secondary has effectively taken the passing game out of our opponents' control. This is a remarkable turnaround from the last 10 seasons, where the only corner we could find in NO is Bourbon and Canal. Barring additional injuries, this could wind up being the best D this team has ever had (changes in the passing D rules makes comparing the Dome Patrol irrelevant, no disrespect intended.) |
Re: Interesting Stat
Agreed. This is the best secondary the team has had in the last 15 years..possibly ever. It really made the difference in several ball games. Sharper and Porter's TDs turned the game around.

Re: Interesting Stat
the stats do make a statement but the game is where it really counts and I think that they have proven to be one hell of a secondary
but outside of that the whole D is really doing an awesome job |
Re: Interesting Stat
IMO, the pressure has been good, hence the INT's. If the INT's were lower, I would think the sacks would probably be higher...meaning the qb held the ball instead of getting rid of it resulting in an INT
