Saints winning despite turnovers
Drew Brees picked the Miami Dolphins secondary apart after helping the Dolphins throw a picks party in the first three quarters. Forcing three turnovers of their own, the New Orleans Saints rallied from a 24-3 deficit to go ahead for good with 8:35 left.
The Saints flew past the Atlanta Falcons despite putting the ball on the ground repeatedly. Brees and running backs Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell all lost fumbles, but New Orleans led for the entire second half. The Saints’ two consecutive victories with four turnovers matches the total number of wins for the rest of the NFL this year in similar situations. Washington Redskins beat 0-7 Tampa Bay Buccaners 16-13 with four miscues. Pittsburgh Steelers beat 1-7 Cleveland Browns 27-14 in a game where both teams coughed up the ball four times. That’s it. Teams lost the other 19 times they had at least four turnovers.... |
