Drew On WWL QB to QB

Re: Drew On WWL QB to QB
I wonder if Ben Roethlisberger feels jilted not being compared to Brady, Peyton, and Drew. We have a top 3 QB if not the best in the NFL. We need to keep Drew Brees healthy for as long as possible.

Re: Drew On WWL QB to QB
Thats a good Question. I bet he doesn't care, he's has TWO Super Bowl rings

Re: Drew On WWL QB to QB
People forget about Ben all the time when discussing great QBs. He's not an elite QB in the sense of mechanics and passing stats. But if we are talking about winning-est (i.e. super bowls) Then it goes Brady, Ben, Manning & soon to be Brees (WHO-DAT!)

Its probably an unfair accessment and ultimately its the ring that counts....but its my $.02. There are those whose argument about Brees is that he's just the NFL's equivalent to Colt Brennen (when he played in Hawaii)......able to put up gaudy numbers but nothing more than a product of the system. |
Re: Drew On WWL QB to QB
I agree with your opinion on Ben. This is the first year he has really showed a great passing game. Which is why he doesn't get brought up, despite 2 rings. But he has always been a play-maker in the sense of being hard to sack and extending plays. Alot like McNabb in that sense.
And as far as Brees being a system QB...it's probably true but by that argument, so is Manning. At the end of the day, an elite QB still has to make the hard throws and make quick, smart decisions. A system can't bring that out, it has to be there. |
Re: Drew On WWL QB to QB
Pittsburgh has kind of become a passing team.

Re: Drew On WWL QB to QB
I really like Big Ben. He's fun to watch and plays the game with reckless abandon. But he's not even CLOSE to Drew or Peyton.
The argument "he's got 2 SB rings" gets very flimsy when you look back at Ben's performance in that SB. Matter of fact, the one big play Ben made that year was a tackle. |
