Ulitmate Jinx?? Vegas Makes Saints Superbowl FAVORITE
 

Once an afterthought, the Saints are now the favorites to win Super Bowl XLIV. The Saints' odds have lowered with each victory this season. They now are 3-1 favorites to win the league's signature event, which, I'm guessing, is unofficially the lowest odds they've had in franchise history.

The NFL's other undefeated team, the Indianapolis Colts, is the second favorite at 5-1. New England is third choice at 11-2.
"No team has proven themselves more in bettors' eyes when it comes to futures this season than the New Orleans Saints," Bodog Sportsbook manager Richard Gardner said. "The Saints were 20-1 at the start of the season, but currently sit as the clear favorite at 3-1."

The Saints are the heavy favorite to win the NFC Championship at 3-2 odds. The Vikings are next at 7-2.

The odds, of course, could change if the Saints stumble in the coming weeks, but it does help ensure one thing: The Saints aren't going to sneak up on anyone the rest of the way.

Since this is probably the ONLY time in history the Saints have been favored to win the big game..... IS THIS A JINX??

This has me wondering. Are Saints fans the most superstitious fans on the planet? I understand a little about the south and voodoo, gris-gris, and superstitions. From what I've seen and heard I think that indeed, Saints fans are the most superstitious.

not at all. I've seen SI pick the exact two super bowl teams several years
before. Sometimes they know what they're talking about.

Can't really fault the prediction, after all the Saints are playing pretty bad and still managed pretty convincing wins the past two weeks. Time will tell but at least the schedule seems to be in the Saints favor at this time.

Makes sense to me. Saints are playing as well as anyone right now, are still relatively undamaged by injury (even this week, compared to a lot of teams), and have a relatively easy path to home-field advantage. They are a game up on everyone else in the NFC and have one of the league's easiest schedules from here on out. And the competition in the NFC is a little weaker (3 or 4 really good NFC teams compared to 5 or 6 in the NFC).

It's about damn time. We've arrived boys and girls and you better enjoy it because we may never pass this way again. It took 42 years to get this far maybe we'll be the team of the 2010 era.

This is hilarious!

After I got home from Baghdad, I took a vacation to Vegas with the wife. the ONLY gambling I did was to take a bet on sports futures on the Saints!

At the time of the bet (July) the book makers had little love for our boys and had the following odds:

Win the NFC 8:1
Win the Super Bowl 13:1

Odds on Favs at the time to take the NFC- The Eagles, followed closely by the Bears and believe it or not, the Cowboys

Super Bowl Favs were Patriots followed by the Colts

I hope its not a jinx. I'm making close to $1300 on a $100 bet if our boys take it all! ROFL

I was in Vegas in March and made a bet on our team to win. I got 18:1 in March on Saints to win the Superbowl.

1st we have to win something.
"dynasties" are rare, and I've seen teams in the past that "couldnt lose," and
disappointed every year, until their integral parts all got old, so they went from "potential dynasty" to "rebuilding" in a couple of years.

but otherwise, I'm having a blast now!
