.. Drew is asking him "is it here where it hurts?" :)

I have to say, that I feel for Jake in this game. I mean, Fox basically cut off his "b@lls", before the game started, by telling him, "not to take any chances". I'm glad we won, but it wasn't Jakes fault they lost. It was Fox's.

Speaking of Jake's "b@lls", did anyone else here Billick say, "The thing I like about Jake's b@lls....."? I didn't hear the rest of his analysis, because I was choking on my beer.

No surprise, he always acts like a baby when things dont go his way. God forbid he thinks his receiver is held.....he would almost throw himself on the ground, lol......

Poor Jake. You kind of feel sorry for a native son. I think what I see in his face is that he knows he is done after the season.

Feel sorry for Jake? Well I guess that's what a good sport would do. But how many times has it been rubbed in our faces?

Look, anyone familiar with Jake knows he's a cry baby. And he plays bad when he gets frustrated because of it. I don't feel bad for him, he's grown. Last year they were 13-3 and he blew it for the team. Don't blame us cause you're still mad about last year.

SaintPauly 11-08-2009 09:53 PM

Re: Am I wrong, but look at Jakes face

I'm curious, as to how you can blame Jake for the loss, when he really wasn't allowed to throw the ball. I reallize he earned that kind of treatment, with all of the picks he's thrown this year, but still. I'm no jake fan, by any means, and I am glad we won, and they lost, but I don't think Jake lost this game. Bad play calling had alot to do with it.

Jake = Jim Zorn. Both have no real power on their respective teams, and are lame ducks.

I see the comparison, but disagree somewhat. It's one thing for a coach to pull the reins in on a player, but when the owner doesn't allow his head coach to have final say on what play is being called...well...that's almost unheard of.

Zorn needs to leave if he hasn't already. Every minute that he stays in that situation causes him to lose any credibility that he might have had.

Jake is slumping, he may or may not bounce back, but I would think that by now he has earned enough to have one of the most beautiful horse ranches in Louisiana.

Re: Am I wrong, but look at Jakes face

Jake has one target with ability in Smith and he's a complete punk that's not NEARLY as good as he thinks he still is. Jake should have been the QB in New Orleans. They didn't give him a fair shake and Carolina did. He has won ALOT of games in Carolina and has taken them to the Super Bowl. Put Colston, Shockey, Moore, Henderson and Meachem on his team, and the conversation would be much different. Don't get me wrong. I had rather have Brees. He makes the recievers mentioned above better more so than the other way around. But, Brees has had EIGHT turnovers the past three weeks. Much like the stretch Delhomme had to begin this year. No one is calling for him to be replaced. My point is Delhomme is not THE problem in Carolina. WHO DAT!

Any day Delhomme loses is a good day.

Steve Smith is a punk, yes, agreed. I dont know enough to know what to say about Delhomme, but its good to see someone defend him, for a change. He got so much hate on my old board. If he werent a Panther, I'd be pulling for him.

Was this as evident on tv as it was in the Dome? I kept telling my neighbors
in the Terrace, "John Fox has zero confidence in Delhomme." It bit them in the 2nd half, as we just started doubling Steve Smith, and stacking the line everywhere else.

...

I've certainly never heard such nonsense as pulling the coaches play-calling. Dan Snyder has earned a rep as one of sports biggest IDIOTS.

You gotta admit, it would be nice to be "struggling" at your job, and still have a big ranch. Is it in Breaux Bridge?

I think he raises horses somewhere in that vicinity...just going on my memory from some of his past interviews. It would be the life, though. Raising horses, eating mud bugs, po-boys and gumbo...fishing...what else is there?

You can't walk away from the money no matter how bad it gets. Make them fire you.

My friends and I paused for a moment after Billick said that. Shortly after the pause was a booming laughter from all over the room. If it weren't for the gutter, our minds would be homeless.

Considering that yesterday was the first time in Jake's career that he's lost in Louisiana, I don't really feel too bad for him.

I would agree but the fumble on the 1st and Goal on the 1-yard line was probably on him and cost the Panthers 4 points (a FG versus an almost sure 7 points with their running game). Granted, Drew made his mistakes too but at least they came early.

I'm just glad I wasn't the only one who noticed it. I thought I was hearing things. Its not
Every game u hear an announcer use that terminology. If he would have said passes, instead of balls
Then I think it would have sounded less disturbing.

Re: Am I wrong, but look at Jakes face

My man Jake is still an excellent QB. I know he is struggling right now, but he is in a particularly difficult situation right now. Yes, he has a nice running game going, but those receivers??? Steve Smith is a great receiver, but that is all he has right now, top that off with John Fox going ultra conservative, and guess what... I do kind of believe this is the last run for Jake, I do see Carolina taking a QB in their first round next year, but I guarantee that Jake is not the real problem at this time.

You run the ball on 3rd and 15 yards against the highest scoring offense in football?? Zero confidence in the QB. I couldn't wait for the second half and us to have a lead. Jake is gone after this year for sure.

Kind of Manning-Brady-ish

Re: Am I wrong, but look at Jakes face

No hard feelings for Jake but what goes around comes around.
Agree Shrimp Smith is the loser here. Jason David, Josh Bullocks and Harper also among others with our previously inept secondary were the ones who put him and some other receivers in our division that are not "all that" on the map and made big paydays thanks to them. Put them up against a decent secondary and he especially is only average.
