I almost cost us the game!

I wore a different Saints shirt at the beginning of the game ... then I realized ... OH Sh....T ..... my wife quickly ran and got the BnG one ... I put it on right quick .... the momentum started to change and all was in order.

Breesus Christ... that was a close one!
:-D

It must have been a team effort, then...because I realized I still had my dress socks on (looks funny to me when you are wearing gym shorts) and looked like my dad, so I took them off immediately.

Yep, I thought it was me also during the first half. First I got a haircut which I haven't had since preseason then I was BBQing and didn't have my opposite color jersey on and wasn't sitting in my recliner with a Bud. Put on my white jersey and dropped my big a$$ in the recliner Bud in hand for the second half and everything turned to roses. Thank God

It may have been me. I was out of town trying to get back from NM in time for the game but my 2 year old had other plans. I got back at the start of the 3rd quarter. Just in time to catch the second half online. I have seen every game this year at a bar in LBC.

I'm embarassed to say this, but I'm wearing the same shirt every week...and it hasn't been washed yet, either. The first five weeks I wore it just for the game and immediately hung it back up, but finally dumped it in the hamper after the Giants game. It was in the bottom of the hamper the last few weeks (Miami, Falcons, Panthers), and when I dug it out in its stinky, wrinkled glory and put it on, we would win. So now, I'm hanging it outside to air out each week, since I don't dare wash it and destroy the mojo. I know that if I can finally make it to Woodrow's for a game (drat these late games!!), and wear the stinky shirt, my fellow HouDats will not mind... :D

Re: I almost cost us the game!

Sounds like it was a great team effort. I had just bought a beer for $8.50, and was standing in line for nachos when the Saints scored their 1st TD yesterday. To that point, I hadn't yet had a beer since the start of the game.
We just need to all make sure we're doing our part... wear the right shirt, make sure you have beer, etc.
I was a little nervous about wearing a brand new jersey that I hadn't worn before, but I think my lack of beer was the real harmful factor in the first half.

I have had my Colston Jersey every week un-washed unti this week. I had a bet with one of my counterparts in Atl(Falcons Fan). He had to wear my 12 jersey around the office while I was in Atl this past Wed and Thur. He found out why I hadnt washed it.......and thought it would be funny to wash it. He sent me a pic Wed night of the Jersey in his washing machine. I was pissed at him for the 1st 3 qtrs yesterday....lol
But at least I smelled a lot better!

Wife has been buggin' about me not putting the Fleur de lis on my truck that she bought me (she's a cowboys fan)) . Not gonna happen unitl they change their winning ways...when they change, I'll make a change. Got home just in time to turn on my new 47" and watch DW go 66 for 6. Waited until half-time to get out of my Sunday-go-to-meetin' clothes and then it all got better. I'll be glad when we get back to winning early, like 47-13.

Ditto, my black Reggie jersey is getting more cologne as the season wears on, I'm too freaked to wash it.

My girlfriend pointed out to me how superstitious I am. Then she pointed out that most people who play sports are. Regardless, we are a superstitious bunch.

Smash, I knew it was you!

I had some more shirts made if anyone wants to join the train of POWER

We made these cool shirts for the website and have been undefeated since then.

They may hold the key, along with the rhino bones around my neck and the 13 virgins that I must have around me during the games.

Discipline guys and gals!

Man, I knew something was wrong in the universe. Even Brees was struggling. Colston was dropping impossible passes. Usually, he catches impossible passes.

The game was saved by my wife putting her "toe" gris gris on the Panthers at the beginning of the second half. She learned it from Marie Laveau and can only use it every other game, so you guys will have to do your thing for the next game.

Always wear the same Colston jersey and my all black Saints hat. Have been working so far so I'll keep doing it.

Re: I almost cost us the game!

I don't know about y'all but I could feel the momentum swing in our favor right at the end of the 1st half. Granted we should have scored a TD there but knowing that we would get the ball to start the 2nd half, I was still concerned, yet quietly confident that we would drive right down the field, score a TD and get back in the game. Which we did.
One more thing, theres no way a team can come out in the 2nd half, score only 3 points on us, and expect to win. Our D played great during the 2nd half and if you take away the one big run for a TD that they had, in the 1st half, we pretty much kept their running game bottled up.
