Who else is worried about our injuries?
Well, the year is really wearing on us. We are losing some key players on defense and our backs are against the wall. What the hell are we gonna do? How will we survive the playoff's?
|
Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
We need to overcome the next 3-4 weeks without any more injures and be a little healthier going into the stretch.
|
Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
We will make it..... just have to sign a few players...soon
|
Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
There's really nothing we can do. You just put your hat on go to work and hope it all works out. WORK YOUR BUTT OFF.

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
It is terrible. Of course I am worried. Hopefully the people that can get healthy will, and we can find a reasonable replacement for TP. If SE, JG, and DS get healthy- hopefully we can find a replacement for him that is decent

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
Everybody has got lots of injuries at this time of the season. This is where depth comes in to the situation. I also hope the Saints can get some good players who are not with teams now, but who want to play with a winning team.

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
Injuries are part of the game, the Colts are out 4 Defensive starters right now. A couple guys will be coming back soon and in the mean time the backups have to grow up quick and fill in so this team doesn't miss a beat

true, but, at the very least...gay has the game experience. |
Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
I'm already having nightmares of seeing Gay trying to cover Welker during the Patriots game
|
Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
If the Saints are smart they will put Greer on Welker ALL DAY and put Jenkins on Moss mid to short patterns and Sharper over the top. Harper can handle tight ends and backs. We should be OK if Jenkins steps up and plays like a first rounder. We drafted him in the first round for a reason. He was the number one corner prospect in the draft and now it's time for him to get off the special teams and earn his signing bonus. Gay is not a starter. I'll tell you that.

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
It's over halfway through the regular season and we are getting banged up, fortunately most of the injuries this year have been fairly short term and we should bring somebody back almost every week... this week it was Fuita. Last year Gay stepped up when we needed him too, he's been used to playing the nickle or dime this season. He should be fine and Jenkins ought to be able to handle the opposite corner. Leigh Torrence was a liability out there and didn't look like he got it at all. Young could also play corner if necessary. I don't think we need to bring in someone off the street just yet, unless it's MM.

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
dude, as long as we get healthy for the playoffs. well be ok, but for know i'm sh**tin my liver

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
I am not so worried about the New England game, I pretty much know they are going to beat up the Saints secondary. The best news of the day was hearing that Tracy Porter should be back this season. Over the course of the next three weeks, the Saints just need to win at least one. By then, a lot of these injuries should be healed for the stretch run of final month, which would put the Saints in excellent shape for home field advantage!

The back ups have to perform better. Remember the Patriots a few years ago, they had a wide receiver playing corner, I can't remember his name and they went to playoffs, maybe Super Bowl. Everybody has to suck it up. |
Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
Are the Vikings banged up yet?

If it's any consolation, every team has injuries to contend with. The Falclowns' Turner is banged up ... they resigned Stecker for the second time. With our offense, if we continue to score and don't shoot ourselves in the foot with turnovers, we should be ok until our defense gets 100% once again. |
Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
CM has been injuried the past couple of seasons but he's a stud. The only reason I figure he hasn't been signed because the price tag, age and the injuries of late but he fits well for what we need. Come in and hold it down until our starters are healthy.
I mean I would perfer MM but I'll give Greg the benefit of the doubt on this one. SOLID pick up though. |

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
Normally, I might raise an eyebrow about the move considering CM's age/point in career.....but no one can dispute the impact that Sharper (similarly in his early 30s) has had on our D so I'm anxious to see what he will be able to for us in the next few games...particularly against New England.

Re: Who else is worried about our injuries?
Bottom line: CM is a stop-gap.
