Brees to be in a commercial with Obama

NEW YORK (AP) — President Barack Obama will appear with NFL players Drew Brees, Troy Polamalu and DeMarcus Ware in a public service announcement that will air during the league's Thanksgiving games.

The 90-second spot shows Obama and the NFL stars playing touch football with local children on the White House lawn. The PSA promotes the league's Play 60 campaign, which encourages physical activity to combat childhood obesity, and the president's community service initiative United We Serve.

Obama wears a Chicago Bears jacket as he plays football with Brees, the New Orleans Saints quarterback, Polamalu, the Pittsburgh Steelers safety, and Ware, the Dallas Cowboys linebacker. A shorter version of the spot will air throughout the season.

I hope Mr. Obama catches a football better than he bowls. Good to see this kind of thing. Regardless of your political bent, childhood obesity is a far too prevalent and dangerous condition for our children and has a huge impact on our government spending both short term and long term.

Heck of a compliment to Drew Brees. He's definitely a leader in the NFL and having him appear with the Pres only shows just how important he is to the sport and to the kids. Great recognition for the Saints also!

I'm glad he's in NO, I'm glad Payton is here and I hope they all stay for a long time.

Now, let's cut those taxes!!

If your stupid enough not to think obesity is bad, you got way more problems than just an obese kid.

And spending taxpayer dollars on stupid people and stupid campaigns telling people that fat is bad is not the way to reduce taxes and the deficit.

The way to shrink the deficit is to "ELIMINATE BIG GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS"

I feel like this is money well spent. Parents look at their fat children playing video games and think something like I'm glad I don't have to cook dinner (thanks McDonalds) and I don't have to chase my children down for dinner because I can find them in front of the TV. The more people hear something from different sources the more likely they are to do something about it. These fat kids are going to cost the tax payers money down the road with obesity health related problems. Spend the money now and get them off their asses.

No, I want people to use their own common sense or pay for their own mistakes.

I'm a 33yr old single male who pays his mortgage, credit cards, bills and donates to charity and I don't know how much longer I can afford it... LOL
