Re: No respect from nfl gameday
The Pats are a national mindshare game. The media has elephatine memory. As two examples, they still talk about the Saints/Falcons reopening after Katrina. Also the last mindshare game was the 2007 opener against Indy. Remember how Jason David completely f'ed that up.
In the NFC the media will talk about that Kiln dude because he has a SB championship (1996!) and went to the NFC championship game a scant 2 years ago. Until they are knocked out, they will be the story no matter what the Saints do. But a sound beating of the Pats, especially after Idny strugged with them a couple of week ago would go a long way to turning the tide. It's funny. From a playoff standpoint it's the most unimportant game left on out schedule. But from a mindshare standpoint, it's the most important non playoff game we'll play this season. Think of it as a mini SB. One of the best in the AFC. National game all to our lonesome. SB contenders late in the season. One with an undefeated record. Both teams with a lot on the line. The Saints need to shine in this one to capture attention. Don't worry. You'll be seeing all Saints/Pats all the time for the next week. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
