does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

one of the things i normally couldn't care less about is how "experts" depict my boys in black and gold

but i realized something today......nobody believes the saints have beaten anybody.....nobody believes the saints can even keep up with new england let alone pull a win out

this is absurd and im so tired of listening to my team get disrespected despite going 10-0 and beating not 1, not 2, but 3 undefeated teams in this season alone

this is the most ridiculous thing i have seen in a long time but i just want a blowout so badly

i feel like im the only one that knows the saints are the real deal.....people keep turning our wins into losses for some reason....we must have lost to the rams and dolphins and panthers and falcons because nobody credits us with those wins

so i gotta ask........WTF?

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

The Patriots are media darlings and have been for most of this decade so what else would you expect going into this game. I have found it odd that most experts still only talk about the explosive offense and only mention the defense like its still an afterthought and the weak link of the team

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

first post (woo hoo!!) anyway! I find it funny when people say we haven't played anyone. I think almost every team we played (close your eyes lions, rams, buccs!) were considered good teams, and the eagles, jets, and giants were undefeated at the time. Its not the saints fault that after we beat a team the rest of league takes the blue print and runs with it! So yeah I hope we put the beat down of beat downs on the pats. Since Brady threw 5 td's in one quarter we have an excuse to score a 100 and not look like jerks!

spkb25 11-25-2009 10:49 AM

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

Yo nothing at all would make me happier. I don't expect that. The pats are a different team with welker, but ma I would love it. I know our boys will have their game faces on for this one

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

Nothing would make me happier than to see Brees in a baseball cap halfway through the fourth quarter.......

Nothing.........except a baseball cap in the fourth quarter of the Superbowl.

And I hate blowouts. They are boring. But I don't want the Saints to squeek by the Patriots. I want the Patriots to consider firing Belicheck after Monday night.

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

A blowout would be pretty epic. That is what is so scary about this game. It is one of those that can have many different conclusions. The Saints could possibly blow out the Pats, or they could squeak by with a two or three point victory. On the other hand, if the Saints resort back to the way they were playing in the first half against the Dolphins, Falcons, and Rams, then the Pats could very well make them pay by putting up a ton of points. This game CANNOT come down to the kickers. Gostkowski is a machine.

This is possibly the biggest game the Saints have ever played in terms of earning respect. I expect them to be up to the challenge....and I expect them to win.

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

I agree with D. We definately don't want the game to come down to Gostkowskis leg....

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

This game is building to be in the top biggest game in Saints history but that is where the hype begins. People are over-hyping this game to that level. Lets put some perspective into why...

*Saints Undefeated and seriously will threaten the '72 Dolphins and Pats
recored of an undefeated season.
*Monday night game against the a current dynasty team of the decade.
*Benchmark game to showcase just if the Saints can perform on an elite
level on a big stage. Some would call it a Changing of the guard so to
speak.

However in reality it means very little. Aside from the gaining a couple of phschy points that we are an elite team. The only thing in reality is the Saints maintain a game lead over the Vikes for home field advantage in the playoffs.

Winning this game puts a big target on our backs.

For some reason I keep thinking one team will come out quick with a 14 point lead.

I have a suspicion that the Saints playbook is about to really get opened up - I think a flea flicker, fake punt, or something we have never seen will wind up making it into this game.

I guess with SP thats always a possibility, but I wonder how much he will "show his hand" between now and the playoffs. I'm not saying he'll be conservative the whole way, I just think he might save any specialties for the post season.

TXGSP 11-25-2009 12:17 PM

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

SP called a Double Reverse in the Miami game if I am not mistaken...

I would also think he would not want to "show his hand" with 5 games left after this, but want would it do for the "Team mentality".

This is probably the least important game as far as post season seeding goes that the Saints have left. No seeding has been decided yet and it could come down to one game in the NFC.

It's Still - "One Game at a Time", but a BLOW OUT would be really nice...and the TARGET on the Saints would only be bigger for the remaining games.

Getting Belicheck fired would be nice just because he'll be forced to have to most uncomfortable press conference in history! They'll be making beer commercials off of that one forever! :) But otherwise, I'm not worried about a blowout. I'd like to have a comfortable lead by the middle of the fourth quarter so nothing crazy like a fumble, bad nonreviewable call, or recovered onsides kick changes the outcome. But let the media talk! I think teams like the Giants & Jets bought too much into the hype that we they could beat us, and they clearly weren't ready to play the 2009 Saints (I think they both thought they were playing the 2008 Saints). And the Panthers, Dolphins, and Rams seem to buy too much into the hype that we were ripe for an upset and couldn't close the deal. So I think if we "squeak by" New England by less than 10 point, Dallas will come into the Dome cocky and overconfident (OK, they were going to do that anyway) and we'll smash them, and then when the Vikings or who ever comes into town for the playoffs, let the media hype them up too so they can be overconfident that they can throw into tight coverage, run on 3rd and 5, leave Shockey 1-on-1 with a linebacker, and assume Reggie is no threat. I kinda like us being the wolf in sheep's clothing.

I dunno. I'd prefer to see us run it down their effin throats and keep Brady and Welker (and Moss) pouting on the bench.

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

No way this will be a blow out. How can Canton even suggest this when he is predicting a low scoring game. But would it be nice certainly! I agree with SaintFan and and bring it to them with the ground game keep Brady on the sideline and make him desperate. This will be the way we will see him make mistakes and take chances. We have the advantage of having quality depth this year that can wear them down. The last team that puts points on the board will prevail in this game.

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

I hope big SE is back, as well as greer. If Greer is out- it might be a long day. SE would be huge though.

Yeah to the guy above who said it first: running it down their throats would be really nice- cause then you are just showing who wants it!!

Heck yes I want a blow out. I want to see their owner upset and mad while flipping off our fans with both hands. I want to see my enemy driven bvefore me and to hear the lamendation of their women. Give me a blow out.

actually i predicted a 34 to 17 win for our boys in black and gold......the defensive struggle prediction was a joke

i think we win convincingly just like we did against dallas a few years back.....our team is very good and it has shown during every game this season.....even when we are beaten down....completely demoralized.....and the game is out of hand.....we still come back and win

there is no lead that is insurmountable.....there is no team that is unbeatable.....the is nobody that can stop us

Truth Brother!

The regular season is a tool to acheive the best possible playoff position.

My biggest fear is a 16-0 regular season and a loss in the playoffs to a team like the '08 Cards or the '07 Giants.

No. Wait. My biggest fear is how gay we will look if we slip in the power rankings!

Sorry Canton did not get the joke thing. Hope you are right. Last week I thought the game would be tight and I could not have been more wrong. If the Saints can shut down this Pats offense I am really going to be impressed more so than I already am with this team.

If (and that's a big, humongous "IF") the Saints do get a blowout win, or even pitch a shutout, don't you know how many of the talking heads, the "experts", the pundits would feel "STOOPIFIED" (Yes, with 2 "O"s) not to consider them to be elite? In 43 years we went from annual doormats, to average, to being a force. The Saints - and the city and state - are STARVING for a champion, and I "KNOW" that the 2009 team has the potential to become one. It's just a matter of how bad they want it.

I agree. The Pats are too good a team to get blowed out. We will have to bring our A game to beat them. And play mistake free for 60 miniutes. You can't give the pats a break, cause if you do they will make you pay. Penaltys and turnovers will kill you against a team like the pats. They have been an elite team, if the elite team, for a very long time. To be the best you must beat the best. It will be a playoff like attmosphere in the dome mn, and it will all come to who wants it the most. I sure hope ours boys are as hungry as we the fans are.

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

Not only will this be a test for the Saints, this will also be a test for the Patriots, as well. They will have to bring their "A" game. And their bench will have to step in and play. Because, after all, regardless of what team sport it is, YOU ARE AS GOOD AS YOUR RESERVES!! If you have your starters who can play and a legit bench, chances are good that you are a championship contender. BUT, if your bench is shot, and your starters are too, do like the J-E-T-S, "Just End The Season". We would know for sure who wants it more. The Patriots may have been there (5 SBs, winning 3 of them), but the Saints wants to do better than the NFC Title game. They're shooting for that Lombardi and I would like to see it at Airline Drive in February. Personally, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE BLACK 'N GOLD GO UNDEFEATED, TAKE IT TO THE SUPER BOWL AND RUB IT IN THE FACES OF THE DOUBTERS, AND THE '72 DOLPHINS (GO INTO THEIR DRIVEWAY AND TAKE OVER THE NEIGHBORHOOD!! "AINTS" BAG BURNING CEREMONY, A SECOND LINE PARADE AND , FOR BUDDY D, WEAR THE DRESS, DEPENDING ON WHO WOULD GO ALL OUT AND DO IT!!)

Dragon1950 11-27-2009 05:28 PM

Re: does anybody want a blowout as bad as i do?

On most of the boards where Pats fans are hanging out, they keep on harping about Brady's 3 SB rings and the fact that we have none. While I agree that a loss here would not ruin our season, I would dearly LOVE to shut them up for at least a week ;^)

I also agree that staying ahead of the Vikings IS very important. Wish I didn't have to work on Monday or Tuesday. Monday my mind is going to be very preoccupied, and I'm fairly certain that our Monday night win will keep me buzzed for a few hours after it's over.
