Pats road record

The Pats road record is 1-3, with the 1 win coming in London against the Bucs. Does this off set the 17 straight wins against the NFC?
Thoughts?

And Brees is 3-0 against the Pats dating back to his days with the Chargers.

Means nothing. It's all about the match ups. Both teams create headaches for each other. This will be an all out war.

I think it means a lot. When a team seems to struggle on the road, and the other team plays really well at home. Im not saying its a guaranteed win by any means. However, I do think its something that people aren't considering and proabably should.

I agree. Turn overs will play a big part in this game. But it will come down to who wants it the most. If we can have success running the ball we will keep Brady and company on the side lines and force them to play catch up. And then hopefully Sharper and company can come up with a few turnovers. And Bell and Thomas must protect the ball and don't allow a turnover. But make no mistake this will be a war.

Do not think the Pats will be rattled with Billy scripted plays initially. But no way is it not an advantage to have them come to us. Fans need to break down as much communication at the line of scrimmage as possible. No one here can honestly say that the Pats would not rather have this Saints team at home. War it will be but advantage goes to the Saints at home.

I agree. I just want to shut my wife team down.

I guess no one has heard of Home Field Advantage before.

There is a difference when you are playing in front of a hostile crowd. Not that its 3-7 point advantage but you do have an element that favors the home team. Some teams do cope with it better than others.

The advantage definately goes to the home team even though it's not a point advantage as pointed out by Euphoria. Where the advantage lies is at the line of scrimmage when false starts and delay of game penalties occur. The Dome is as loud as any other field. On a side note I had to explain the 12th man to my girlfriend yesterday...she's pretty quiet so she doesn't help bring the volume up...oh well, she loves me and therefore she loves the Saints.

The only stat we need to worry about is how many touchdowns that are put up on the board. We are gonna stomp a mud hole in the Patsies.

Nah, IMO you'd have to break down each team's matchups. What starters were out? What was the turnover ratio? Dropped passes? Penalties?

In other words; just too many factors in a game to deem it simply a "road loss".

I do agree that HFA plays a role in it. Especially in places like the Superdome.

Here's another thought: Since our home crowd plays such a role, how important is it for the Pats to keep us on our hands???

Getting an early lead is huge for the Pats to take the crowd out of it. Unfortunately, they have been good at that this year, whereas the only thing the Saints have been good at in the first quarter over the last couple months is stinking up the joint and maybe turning the ball over a couple of times. Of course Drew & Co. are never out of it, but getting behind early could negate the HFA and make the comeback harder.
