Naysayers...please stand up!
Alright...I'm one of those naysayers. Flog me or whatever. I did not think that NE would get beat by 3 TD's by our Saints. Call it years of disappointment. Hat's off to our boys...you won a HUGE game tonight! Malcolm Jenkins...great game regardless of the penalties...Morstead, you are the MAN! Brees...well, you played lights out as usual! Greg Williams...unreal. McKenzie...seriously, a unbelievable performance tonight. Great game all around. This week it is great to be a long-suffering Saints fan like me. Enjoying the ride!!!

Naysayers, grab the Tabasco.

Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
Am I impressed and now we are a team of destiny. What a poor showing by these pretenders the truth is out now.

Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
I know we're a good football team. I know we were going to do good in the playoffs. What I didn't know was that we were going to wax that arse tonight. So if that labels me as a naysayer, GIVE ME SOME CROW BABY! With that Tabasco sauce and them some!
WHO DAT!!! |
my official CROW eating thread
I said earlier that we couldnt stop their four and five WR sets....I was wrong, MM was great, and I said he couldnt contribute...Im happily eating a hot steaming plate of crow with a side of Patriot and it feels great!!!!

Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
shoot I thought we wuld be lucky to get a win against them with our cb issue

Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
I called it that Mike could still play and was a good signing. I didn't know why they signed Mac over Mike but in the long run it worked out the way I wanted it to.
Welcome back MIKE in a HUGE way. I think when he got that INT the game was over. For him to come in and play like that when we needed him to and make our secondary not miss a beat is huge. The weakest part of our D is now our strongest! |
Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
Can't resist this but there were some comments a few weeks ago about the Saints having "lucky wins" vs "quality wins". As a I said then ask Miami, Atlanta and Carolina how good a "quality loss" feels. Great teams know how to win and tonight proved to the doubters that the Saints are a great team and know how to create "luck" when you need it!! 11 -0, five to go!!

Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
The Saints still haven't beaten anybody this year. The Patriots can't win on the road, so this game didn't prove anything.
:D just kidding Seriously, was that fun to watch or what? I loved every second of it. |

How do we squeak by The Rams and Handle The Patriots, I guess when they say "on any given day" is true.

MAN HAS IT BEEN FUN TO WATCH?!
who dat baby...WHO DAT?! |
Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
Give me loads of crow...this is one of the best Saints games I've seen in a while. Holy Cow did Payton carve up that secondary! Of course, Brees' accurate passes and looking off the defense REALLY helped...good Lord. Next obvious move to keep this a steam-rolling team is this...who is gonna be our kicker? Carney jacked it up tonight...like I said from the onset, Carney missed a FG inside of 40 yards and almost missed that first FG. Is it time to let this guy go or what? When we get in that close game down the stretch, I really don't won't this liability kicking for the B&G...teams now see our weakness, for sure. Carney is gonna sink us. Other than that, if we keep winning by 2 TD's, Carney is obsolete, but we can't take that chance. A championship will require us to have a dependable kicker.

"Any given day any given team can beat another given team." My other favorite is that: "The best team doesn't always win". We can smoke the Pats and turn around and lose to the Rams the next week as easy as that. Its about match ups, showing up, and performing at a high professional level each week in and week out". I also have to add I was really suspicious the past couple of weeks that they were preparing for tonights game. Sure it could have shot themselves in the foot but they could have been that confident as they looked at the schedule and game films. I think there was a reason they held MM until this week because he was the one I would have signed over Mac hands down. As to not show the pats what and who was ready and going to create havoc for them or where to exploit. What a surprise. I could be wrong but there is a lot of things that didn't add up going into this weeks game but I love the outcome. |
Re: Naysayers...please stand up!

There are other factors that play a part on games: matchups, byes, missing players, players' psyche for that given game, etc etc etc. ...and speaking of psyche, there is one parallel between the Rams-Saints and Pats-Saints: in both games, there was a team that was looking for a statement win: the Rams needed to get off the schnide, were coming off a bye, had just gotten their QB back, were at home, and were playing an undefeated team. The Saints were playing home on Monday Night, against the team that pretty much has been the measuring stick for the better part of the decade, week after week hearing the "who have you beat?" question, hearing how great Brady, Manning, Farve are. Off course, the Rams gave it their best, and still ended up losing, whereas the Saints gave it their best, and blew New England out of the Dome. |
Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
Maybe I am wrong, but if Ellis plays I don't think S. Jackson goes off so well against us and that game is not as close.
|
Re: Naysayers...please stand up!
I saw it as an even matcup. I thought we would win by 7-10 because it's at home. Had I known Brees would stay clean, I would have predicted an easier win.
