Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
During the game at any point? I know if we win the Superbowl, tears will be easy because we all know someone who isn't with us anymore. But during the game did you actually tear up?

Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
I actually had a tear in my beer. Well, no, not really as I was far too excited to cry. I was however jumping up and down and even made an attempt at dancing to the boom.. boom... boom.. boom boom boom boom boom boom.. boom.. boom... boom... during our many kickoffs.

Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
Yeah, I did... right after the last touchdown.
But I told my girlfriend it was just a little heat from the hot wings getting to me. |
Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
Yeah, I got a little choked up after the game thinking about how terrible things were for me personally last year, how far the Saints have come and what can still be achieved.

Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
I choked up when Sharper hit Faulk... I thought he killed him... :)

Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
All day long people come up to me as I am sporting my Saints jacket saying "GOOD GAME LAST NIGHT". Like I was playing in the game last night. I need to go to NFL.com and check the stats to see if I got anything there. Then I thought about it for the past 40 years I have been apart of this team cheered, cried, frustrated... I realized to hell with it I am taking credit for this!
I am going to really enjoy this week especially if I can get over the bug I caught yelling and sore throat from yelling at my TV. |
Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?

I get the same thing. As my job's resident crazy WhoDat, everyone always pats me on the back first thing when the see me. I mean, if there's a DomeFoam cup laying around in here with Saints logo, everyone knows who it belongs to. Now to answer the opening post, yes, I think I did. The last TD Drew threw last night, when we were just trying to control the clock, keep the ball, and avoid a Pats comeback--then BAM! Touchdown! Everyone else in the bar was jumping up and down yelling, and all I could do is hold my hands up, and I think I smiled like Miss America when they hand her the flowers---yeah. I was getting "verklempt." http://farm1.static.flickr.com/66/16...3d1963b8_o.jpg --- for those of you who get that ^^^^ Actually, I think I looked something like this: http://www.inquisitr.com/wp-content/...009-winner.jpg Then we left, and of course, at home you gotta listen to WWL, and watch ESPN at the same time to soak it all up. Well somewhere Bobby Hebert seemed to be getting rather emotional, as the Deanies crowd celebrated with him, and he was saying something about our long-suffering and how we are America's real team. I was close to going "Vermeil" there too. http://www.azcentral.com/i/sized/D/9...8F656C8E9D.jpg I know there's still 5 games left. I know we havent clinched anything yet (numerically). I know we could drop dead in the 1st playoff game, or fail in some other way. But Yats, last night was The Game. Last night was our Denver '88 game for this century. (Denver-- Dome 1988 42-0 win--clincher, and a massive statement game over the great Elway team--a game, historically, where we show well, then choke in some bizarre way) Last night was The Game. This was where you learned who we are, where we're going, and possibly, that we're not going back to where we came from. You will remember where you were for the Patriots Game '09 always. The Night We Knew Our Saints Were Real. |

Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.”

Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
I was too busy wondering why the Patriots were supposed to be scary. And I was silmultaneously super happy and angry. Happy we whooped 'em and stayed healthy and mad that they just gave up like little girls. 60 minutes people.

Re: Did You Have Tears In Your Eyes?
Yes.
A buddy of mine from my Army days that I had a falling out with sent me a text in the 3d qtr. He is from LA too. We fought over something that now seems silly. He tracked me down through mutual friends and finally found a way to get in touch w/o losing face. Better man than I. We talked about the Saints until we just started talking. So many of my Army buddies used to humor me when I would talk about how the Saints were gonna do it "next year". Now they hit me up and say how they are pulling for the Saints because their team is out this year. They listened to my "dreams" about my Saints and as their teams have had success in the past. They are behind the Saints this year. Not because they are on the bandwagon. Because SFC Wilson deserves it. I am sending out "Who-Dat Nation" shirts to as many as possible and my boys will sport them. If that is band-wagon. Then so be it. Did I cry? You Betcha! Not done yet! 19-0! Bless You Boys! |
