First Take....
This show is killing me.... It's bad enough, that Bayless, was too gutless, to come to work today, and back up his comments about the Saints after that beatdown of his boy Brady last night, but the guy who took his place, making the comment, "The Saints are the hottest team right now, not the best, that would be the Vikings. The Vikes are ahead of the Saints in every category as a team." Paraphrased by me of course, but essentially what he said. Is their a rule, that who ever sits in that chair HAS to be a moronic douche? Unbelievable. What game did he watch last night?

Re: First Take....
That slime ball is on vacation this week but I'm sure he still thinks that the Saints are the 3rd best team in the NFC behind the Farve's and the Cowboys.
There is no way that the Vikings are ahead of the Saints in everything... I'm so sick of ESPN I really need to get DirectTv and NFLN |
Re: First Take....
Well put it in perspective...
He said on paper. I tend to agree on paper from the top down it would appear they are better. Just because we beat the pats doesn't mean we are better than everyone else. We have more games to play an a SB to win still. Winning last night entitles us to nothing. We beat the Vikings then we are better than them. |
Re: First Take....
The tool bag that is on tv said that the Vikings are better that the Saints in every category .... explain me that one?

Why can't the Vikings beat us to be better than us? Why are they getting preferential treatment..? I'm sorry..... FAVRE, that's why. |
Re: First Take....
We beat the Vikings then we are better than them.
Goes both ways- the Queens beat us, then they are better than us. NO losses compared to 1 is, even on paper, a distinction. |
Re: First Take....
They base it on a check off list...
Thats why you guys shouldn't care what they say its all talk anyways. Same freaks put out mind numbing power rankings. It all doesn't matter except the final score. RB was vikes D line Vikes O line Vikes ST vikes I don't think they rated or mentioned any category that we would win such as QB and O and even over all D or secondary. |
Re: First Take....
Now I am just asking, but how can their RBs, and O line be better, when we are the number one rushing team in the league? I'm not understanding this..

Re: First Take....
I eat my lunch most days while watching First Take knowing that Laker-hatin', Horns-hatin', Saints-hatin' Bayless and his cronies will eat their own words for dinner. It fires me up.

Re: First Take....
EXACTLY!!! Who have they played, and beaten, that is better than any team we have beaten? No body. So why are they "the better team"?

Re: First Take....
if the vikings are the better team in every aspect, why do they have a loss? oh wait theyre better cause they have brett favre...and nobody is better than brett favre:whatever:

he said they are the better team.....but what i think he actually meant was that they have better individual players he said you look at DE, Dline, RB, WR, etc etc and you have to put the vikings players above the saints jarred allen is the best DE in the league right now and he is better than grant or smith in my eyes too pat williams and kevin williams are 2 of the best DTs in the league and they play right next to each other on the same team........ellis is good but hes not williams good AP is better than any one of our RBs....i think our combo is better than AP alone but w/e....he gets paid to think for a reason he said that sydney rice and percy harvin are better than our receivers and that brett favre makes them better i wasnt a fan of his analysis but thats ok because our TEAM is better their players may be better but they dont field the better overall team plus DREW BREES |
Re: First Take....
That's my point though. The Vikings have great players, but our depth, is way better than theirs. Every week, we have tds going to 3 or 5 different players. You never know who is going to have the big game, whereas, the Vikings, it's pretty easy to pinpoint their key players, and key on them. Stop Peterson, Rice, and Barrian. I mean, we shut down two of the top five receivers in the league last night in Moss, and Welker. Now why can't we do that to the Vikes? Not to mention, shutting down Brady! Three superbowl rings, as opposed to Favre's one. I'm sorry, I just think that most of these analysts, have Favre stars in their eyes, when it comes to the vikings, and they arent looking at it from a football perspective.

Depth is over-rated also. Its all realitve, who ever is in the game has to make plays period. Brees gets hurt we'll see how is talking depth then. |
Re: First Take....
Well that doesn't make any sense. Why not just go sign a bunch of Joe Blows off the street as our backups.

And you are basing these observations on... ? |

How boring would this place be, if all we do is come in and talk stats all the time? And depth over rated? Are you serious? COME ON MAN! |

or maybe it was from watching the games goof jared allen>will smith jared allen>charles grant pat williams>sed Pat williams>remi pat williams>pressley kevin williams>sed kevin williams>remi kevin williams>pressley AP>PT AP>bell AP>bush AP>hamilton saints>vikings |
Re: First Take....
ok, i have some stats myself. The Saints have 1489 rush yards, split between Bell, Thomas, and Bush. The Vikes have 1329, between Peterson, and their back up, with Peterson having 1084 by himself. That means the back up, has only 208 yards on his own. Now, if we are going to say, that if Brees goes down, we would be hurting, you will also have to say the same about Peterson. Either way, we still have more rushing yards, total, and our backs stay fresher longer, because it's not all on one guy to make it happen.
The only edge, that Minnesota has on us, is their D-line, I will give them that, but that's it. Would it be a good game, yes, but over all better than us, is ridiculous. |
Re: First Take....
So I never do this type of thing but I just had to send an email to that TOOL, and since they wouldn't post it on the show I will post it here for your viewing pleasure.
"So all last week Who Dat nation had to listen to some of your joke NFL 'analysts' talk about how the Saints defense would be no match for New England, especially the secondary, and then what happened? They Saints dominated the passing game of Tom Brady and destroyed the Pats. Now, instead of giving the Saints props we have to deal with talk about the Vikings being more complete? You are a joke!" |
Re: First Take....
Excellent mail bro. Doubtful they will even care. ESPN is the VH1 of sports reporting. They are more worried about creating drama, out of situations, instead of just reporting the facts. Like yesterday, reporting something about Tiger Woods, that they read off the TMZ website. What's that all about? What's next, reports from myspace?

Geez, dude. Don't get so touchy just because I schooled you with the PT-Forte thing :) I just asked you a question: what are you basing your statements on? That's all. Are you basing them on greater-than signs? |
Re: First Take....

you know what showed me how good PT was? THIS SEASON.....forte was the better running back last year no matter how many stats you spin to go your way.......im over it but you cant seem to drop it.....thats fine tho i told you i was basing my opinion on the games that ive seen.......im just tired of having to explain myself when i point out several times that its just my opinion......and you try to pretend like my opinion is actually wrong.....maybe you can try to prove me wrong tho....go ahead......you're going to anyway |
