Who else was at the game and left?

I committed the cardinal sin today. Wife and I were at the game. We left right before the Redskins missed the field goal. I figured we were down 2 scores with 2 minutes to go, had the baby at the sitter's and figured there was no point.

We turned the Sirius after getting on the road only to find out the game was tied. We listed to the win on the radio.

I will NEVER. EVER. leave a Saints game again.

Ironically, we were at the Panthers game the last game of last season in NOLA, and watched them come back...so I knew it was possible. I just figured we were down 2 scores with 2 minutes to go.

One of the greatest Saints win in recent memory and we left.

Did anyone else do this?

I left the room. (But I turned the TV on in other one.)

I'm going to go off and look for NFCCG tickets in NOLA in order to pacify my guilty conscience.

That's a tough call man... I totally understand the frustration and wanting to bolt.

Bro I considered it, but stayed, freezing GD toes and all. Worse part was I had no idea would go to that game, and because I am only visiting in NJ my Saints Jersey is in Blacksburh. So I was incognito- well until the game began and I was yelling when we scored. The seats were not that bad even though they were all the way up in 449

Bro it was so much fun at the end celebrating as we were walking out. Redskins fans for the most part were good guys. No issues

We were in the club level at the edge of one of the end zones (317). Decent view. I'd go back there, but not in the upper deck I believe.

Thing is - I darn near almost looked at the monitor in the concourse right before we went out - but I didn't. Wish I had, I would have run right back up.

IceShack hasn't chimed in yet. Didn't he make the game from Alaska? If he left early, he may eclipse you for the biggest boneheaded move this season.

From Alaska, damn!!!

Hey man I did not mind the upper deck- not my preference, but they were decent seats considering.

I think 200 level would be perfect.

Just have to stay out of those "limited view" seats....

That's depressing Cargo. There was about 50 or more Saints fans after the game "Whodat!"ing like crazy. We stayed long after the game had ended and the looks on the Redskins fans said that they thought we were nuts. I heard one of the security guards say ""Everybody's left the stadium except these crazy Saints fans." It was extraordinary.

I would have stayed had the game been in the dome; also had a 6 month old with babysitter so figured the only thing I was missing was bad. Except I figured wrong.

What? You left the game early because of a 6-month-old??
Bandwagon fan :)

We had her with friends of ours who also have a 3 month old of their own. Had she been with one of our parents or something, we wouldn't have cared so much.

Bandwagon fans don't fly to NOLA to see games; we've done it twice. :D

I am with Canton on this...

DIE HARDS stay and take the beating. Thats what makes this 12-0 season so sweet for some of us. I don't mind bandwagon fans and all but really if you want to be a fan be there to the very end and also know your Center's name.

So many times I run into fans of other teams because I have lived everywhere. I ask them oh you a true fan of 'said' team. I got a test for you - Who is your center? I have only done this once where someone knew there Center's name. I mean you don't know the person on your team that doesn't handle the ball more than anyone on the field even more than the QB???

Euph and Canton- bro it was colddddddd. I weathered it, but my feet were seriously close to frozen. Plus- I had a 3.5 hour drive home. I am glad I stayed, but I was thinking bout it.

The only time I've left early was that Texans game I mentioned earlier and I had no choice in the matter.

Please - I know the center, the backup center, and the emergency snapper. How bout the long snapper?
I can recite the draft picks we've made in the last 3-4 years at least.

No BW here, thanks.

Dang cargo that stinks. I can't blame you with a little one though and I was already crying in my beer at that point. Halo had a knife so I was worried about him as well. Chip shot FG for the win? I didn't think that there was a chance he would miss that.

Re: Who else was at the game and left?

I don't doubt Cargos team spirit...or whatever you guys are saying. It was just a bad call because that was probably one of the most exhilarating finishes I've ever seen in person. A lesson learned

I'll tell you what though, I felt so optimistic about our chances despite never leading, their apparent potency on offense etc. I wanted to stay just to see the looks on their faces. I remember leaning over to my buddy at the start of the 4th to confirm that we were staying till the end...he said "Hell yeah, I wanna see you AINTS walks outta here with your paper bags!" Thats all I needed to hear lol

And he stayed true to our bet and took our customary Winner & Loser picture. I lost last year so that was gratifying too :)

I didn't leave the game...I still don't have tickets :crying: What I did do was make every body at my house listen to the game on AM radio when I thought the game would be interrupted..... I'm so grateful to live in the local region and didn't lose coverage. 12-0 babeee!!!!
