I don't think it's sweat. I think the Redskins fans dumped beer on his head.

Let's pack the place...plus, the "mystery" of this thread will be settled.

The "Dark Side" and "Site-X" put away their differences and join together to show "WHO DAT" has the best fans in the NFL!

Big Woodrows sucks anyway... the food is horrible and they can even make crayfish taste suspect. However, Woodrows is a big time LSU watching place... LSU, Saints... kind of go hand in hand. Might want to bring that up... not to mention the parking blows and the chances for someone to rob your car are high... not sure about that one there....

Lost the signal, and started rationalizing all the way home that everything would be okay; Favre will poop out in a game or two and we'll still have our HFA. As we pulled onto our street in the Copperfield/Cypress area, the local sports said, "and the Saints and Redskins are tied and going to overtime"....I looked at Drew and said "I hope we left in time!!!!" We ran inside, turned the tv to NFL Redzone (aka "crack for NFL fans"), just in time to see the fantastic, unbelievable win.

So, the farther away we got from Woodrow's, the better the mojo got. I don't understand it, but I also don't mess with it. :D

And it sounds like we missed the excitement...????

Hey, all is good between the forums, IMO. Some will talk smack about the other place, but when it comes down to it we're all part of WhoDat Nation!!

(Mike, like my new avatar??? )

I saw that guy in the stand on Sunday. Are the Skins giving away tickets to the homeless on the condition that they wear opposing team's gear?!

Hey Hou-Dats, I'm expecting word from management this afternoon, from
which I would be pleased to pass along and discuss amongst ourselves.
Will most likely tell the story, (which I have witheld until they had a chance to respond) along with their explanation & action plan.

Perhaps it is all a big misunderstanding? We will see. I am open minded,
and am sure you are also.

Thanks for your patience.

Hey, you'll get to see the story live if you & your wife come out. Could use all the support we can get, and besides you could participate in official Hou-Dat business.

Can somebody please find us a Pope hat?

Also, I need the roman numeral equivalent to '67.

Can't make it. Have a Christmas party to go to after the game. Gotta stay close to home. One of these days though we will have to hook up for a beer or 3.

Waiting on this story is almost as intense as waiting for the game on Sunday!

67 = LXVII

Saints - XXXVIII
Falcons - XVII

? XI I MCMLXVI? That cant be right. the LXVI at the end reads "66." I know English is your subject, but I also
know you speak Latin, so I'll bet you know how Roman numerals work.
Help me to understand.

I've never heard it called "crayfish" south of Missouri.

The SAINTS were "born" November 1, 1966. Alvin "Pete" Rozelle awarded a franchise to New Orleans. It was All-Saints day thus the name...later Houstonian, John Mecom, Jr. was named owner... he was a rich kid whose dad made the family fortune in oil...or as it was also called at the time "black gold" thus the colors!

Oh, ok... I was going for 1967, their inaugural season. Here's one for you.
Did you know that big pretty lit up fountain here in Houston at the junction of Main & Montrose (by the Museums) is the "Mecom Fountain?"
It is named for John Mecom, but I dont know why. It Probably has something to do with money. I just realized it could be named for his DAD--- J.M. Sr.

Ed, do you know any artists who could draw a caracature of me? (yes, I know I am a caracature already.) I need one of those really simple type, trademark ones, like Jay Leno has . Maybe one of your schoolkids, could eschew spray-painting the wall for a day, and try working with paper?

I will check on the caricature.

It is the Mecom Fountain because it is across the street from the Warwick hotel. The urban legend about old man Mecom is that he worked late one night and didn't want to drive all the way home. He tried to check in at the Warwick only to be told that there was no room at the inn. He then asked, "If LBJ walked in right now, would you have a room for him?" The manager replied, "But of course!" Mecom Sr. then said, "Well, he 'ain't' comin'...I'll take his room!" The manager apologized and told Mr. Mecom that they really didn't have a room. Mecom asked the manager to wait a moment and ducked into a near by phone booth. (Ah, the days before cellular phones) He emerged about 45 mins. later and once again asked for a room, when he was turned down yet again, he loudly told the manager, "Yer fired!" The manager, with a condescending tone replied, "You cant fire ME!" The old man gave him a wry smile and quietly said, "Oh yes I can, I just bought this &%$@#^* hotel!"

Re: Incident at Woodrow's Yesterday

Thats why I keep you around-- for the great stories, your Popeness.
awesome. ---SuperDome, Pope of the Hou-Dats, ladies & gentlemen....
(applause/ tonight show music)

Hey, unfortunately the Warwick is no longer. It is now Zaza. which
sounds like something I'm not entering. I can tell you the Warwick was truly a classic grand hotel. I've done several gigs in the big ballroom, and not only was it lavish and ornate, but the view was 360 of the city lit
up, including a picture view of the skyline. I am richer for seeing the inside of the Warwick.

I had a friend ,who was a girl, who offered me a room there, whenever, but she was originally a request line caller, so I feared there would be strings attached.

Have you driven by there on Saturday? The Mecom Fountain is
probably the #1 photo spot for Houston brides. Every saturday, its
a parade of girls in white dresses. Its kind of comical if you catch it at
the right time. Normally it is taboo in the wedding biz to have your bride see another bride.

Check back here in a bit. Will post serious Hou-Dat business in a while.

Does nobody in the Houston area have a Pope hat?
