Stand Up

Jeff Duncan wrote in his article "Gris Gris"

That the victory came against the Washington Redskins made it even sweeter. The Redskins are one of the richest teams in the league. Their owner, Dan Snyder, has some of the NFL'S deepest pockets, and their stadium has an eight-figure title sponsor.

Yet, it's the small-market Saints with their quirky car-salesman owner who stand at 12-0, while Redskins fans ponder their team's 3-9 record and perhaps a fifth coaching change this decade.
While there may have been and still may be some issue with Mr. Benson, I believe he deserves more respect as a businessman, philanthropist and supporter of New Orleans than to be dismissively characterized in this way, even if it is from "one of our own."

Daniel Snyder is no better a person or more legitimate businessman because he is fortunate enough to have swiped his team from the Cooks.

We cannot continuously feed into the preposterous image that we are toothless drunk bumpkins waiting for a government handout. We must make our own respect.

Reject this and stand up for our own.
