N.O. QB Club Report: Rick Mueller Confirms that the Saints have contacted Milloy

Today at the New Orleans Quarterback Club, Rick Meuller confirmed that the Saints have indeed contacted the agent for Lawyer Milloy (this morning) and that they are actively persuing him. Meuller said that they would very much like to have him and that the deciding factor would (obviously) come down to money. Meuller confirmed that we are 5 mil.+ under the cap, but said you need to hold on to some of that for injuries etc. (like losing your starting SS Rick?). Looks like it's going to be a bidding war between us and the Bills. One thing to keep in mind, Terbuckey Jones and Milloy seem to have a strong friendship, don't underestimate that influence on the decision (remember Ambrose leaving to play not just for the big bucks but also to be with his #1 amigo Ray Bucahnnon?).

Also interesting: Mueller said that Victor Riley MAY START vs. SEATTLE. He said the staff had been very impressed with Riley this year and that it was a toss-up right now as to who would be named the starter for this Sunday.

I'm at work right now, but I'll try to post some more later. Just wanted to be sure that people know that we are indeed in the game for Milloy, since some here are questioning that.
