Babineaux Arrested, May Miss NO/ATL Game.

The Atlanta Falcons, who seemed to lead a charmed life last season, are paying for it this year.

Already dealing with a slew of major injuries, the Falcons now have a legal matter to deal with. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, starting defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux was arrested for drug possession and other charges Thursday night.

It's way too early to know how the team will respond to this and whether Babineaux will play in Sunday's game with New Orleans. But he's likely to face some discipline at some point and that's going to hurt because Babineaux has been one of the most consistent players on a defense that has struggled all season.

Pulled this from an article on the falc*nts board:

"It's cut and dry," Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli told the AJC. "He was stopped for a traffic violation."

Schiralli said the officer searched the SUV because he smelled marijuana. The officer found three bags containing a total of 40 grams of marijuana, Schiralli said.

In addition to the possession charges, Babineaux is charged with having no tag light and driving without a license and with an expired tag. He also was charged with tinting his car windows too much.

sweet..more than likely atl wont suspend him till the outcome of the legal actions though

If I were a football player getting my body beat up every way at the highest speeds humanly possible, I'd want something to help me cope with the pain and disorientation that rapid decelleration trauma brings.

They should just go on and make this plant legal to use, but illegal to operate heavy machinery while under the influence. Save us all a lot of BS.

Thats three infractions, one misdemeanor and possibly a felony if they want to go with possession with intent to distribute/sell. He in BIG trouble....or atleast would be here in cold a## Idaho.

I was just watching NFL network and they said the Falcons are gonna let him play and let the NFL policy discipline him. But that takes weeks and the Falcons organization are ok with that. The Fal Clowns are determined to stop our win streak
