Internet buzzes over jolly Saints follower

The identity of an unknown New Orleans Saints fan has created a whirlwind Internet frenzy this week.
The fan first made headlines during the Saints’ amazing 33-30 come-from-behind overtime victory over the Washington Redskins last weekend.
The Saints appeared headed toward their first loss of the season, trailing 30-23 and the Redskins about to put the game away with a chip-shot field goal.

The Fox cameras shifted their focus to a man who still had hope that New Orleans (12-0) would win and remain unbeaten.
A photo of the man’s reaction to the Saints’ comeback victory was posted on various Web sites and he had an immediate following.
‘‘He embodies the spirit of most Saints fans,’’ was one unknown Saints fans’ online response. “It’s about the love for the Black and Gold. Having fun, faith and never giving up hope even when all hope is lost.”
In a two-day span, the Saints forum jumped to 30 pages and over 35,000 page views on a New Orleans Saints Web site.
A Facebook page was created to locate the man, resulting in the membership expanding to almost 4,000 members that includes several Saints players. SportingNews.com also had a blurb on him.
Another Web site, FindTheUnknownWhoDat.com :: Dedicated to the Greatest Living Saints Fan!, was created solely for the purpose of finding this man who suddenly became an inspiration to Saints fans.
If the man is identified, he will be offered a chance to watch Saints games in the Superdome for all four remaining games.
The Saints travel to the Atlanta Falcons for a noon contest on Sunday in the Georgia Dome.
