Matt Ryan, Michael Turner not expected to play

If the Atlanta Falcons are going to pull off a big upset against the New Orleans Saints today, they'll have to do it without their starting quarterback and running back.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that quarterback Matt Ryan and running back Michael Turner are not expected to play today.

Both players had been listed as questionable.

Ryan had said he was hoping to return from his toe injury more quickly than the doctors believed was possible, and the Falcons had indicated that if they thought the offensive line was going to be able to protect him they might give it a shot. But it appears that neither Ryan nor Turner will be on the field for the Falcons.
