Another Milloy Buzz-kill

So if Howard signs a deal mid-season - I\'m not sure if you would call it a contract extension as he is still under contract or a new contract - how would that affect the cap number for 2003? My guess is it wouldn\'t, hopefully someone can clear that up for me.
We all jumped on the bandwagon here because an obvious weakness in our defense can be turned into a strength with a Pro Bowler. After it has cooled down a little most of us will agree that we still want him - for the right price. I think the Saints front office did the right thing in offering him a 3-year-contract. They were actively pursuing him, saying what he is worth to this team. If someone else overpays, let them have him.
