Should we go after Peppers?

I think he would do well in G.W scheme..is he a free agent?..I hope that Ndamukong Suh doesnt end up in our division ala Tampa...I just think D-Lines is something we need to address via free agency or the draft...

opinons?

According to the box score, Ellis was credited with a sack. I don't remember seeing it myself, but he got credit for one.

LMAO - that is so true.

We are going to have to really work hard this off-season draft to make up for out late picks for a change.

One thing I love is that already people would be posting draft boards and how will be available for our draft picks... you get sick and tired of all the debates. I guess they are going to be delayed some this year.

Pot >>>> Meet Kettle!

LMAO!

As long as we're entertaining potential suiters ... How much does Peppers have in the tank? Grant's not doing much for us lately for sure!

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

YES! We need another over-priced, 3-sack-a-season, game-disappearing DE to complement Grant!

Hmm.... well sorry for asking...

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

I have a question, how about that florida LB,
Spikes? This guy is a gamer. I'm sure he is
going to go a lot earlier than we pick, but
Wow, could u imagine?

I don't know about peppers. I would actually
like to get younger. Get some more draft picks
and get our defense deeper. Oline too.

No, we shouldn't.

I can't stand that donkey-faced disgrace.

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

Peppers, no. Spikes, maybe.

We need another big body in the middle, unless Pressley starts coming on.

We need to draft

1. DE
2. DT
3. OLB that can play 4-3 or 3-4.

We can get some offensive toys for Payton with the remaining choices

You mean in addition to McCray and Smith? What's our quota?

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

I would have to say no to Peppers. But I do agree, the Saints at least think about replacing Grant in the offseason. Grant has had his moments, but something doesn't seem to be right with him now. Maybe he catches fire down the stretch, lets hope!

He went NUTZ tonight. I'd take him in a heartbeat!

I would take him to...him and W.Smith would give us the pass rush we need..now how to get rid of Grant?

If next year is an uncapped year, they should be able to release Grant without taking a cap hit. At least that is what I hope happens.

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

The problem with Peppers is that he'll give you a game like this, then you won't hear his name for weeks. If he's on, he's an animal. If he isn't, then he's very pedestrian. Of course, his pedestrian is as good if not better than Grant's, but Peppers is going to demand a lot of money.

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

I am torn on the area of need for the Saints defense. Right now we are seeing the depth of the squad on the field.

Both starting DT are out. Porter just returned and Greer is still out. The back ups at LB just left the field.

None of the back ups at these positions really have jumped out at me as anything to have as a starter. None. So all three area on my list high for need than DE for this defense.

Picking in the lower 20's gives us some good players to pick from at CB, DT and SLB. There are some really nice options out there in the draft.

As for UFA I really do not see the cap room there for us, if there is a cap. If there is not a cap I would not worry about it. We do not have the money to play Yankees in the NFL.

Were would I spend the money? LT, DT or OC before anywhere else on the team.DE is just not here IMO.

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

Agreed. The smith & grant $$$, and mccray was too much then and now.

I would really like to get him

foreverfan 02-23-2010 09:35 PM

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

Peppers won't happen. We will trade an OT & WR for a draft picks and develop younger players. That's about all we can do except keep our core players.

In an uncapped season we CAN NOT pick up any free agents

Not interested. As long as he doesnt go to the Falclowns. Can you imagine that? Abraham and Peppers, I hope not!

Re: Should we go after Peppers?

Peppers did very little this year at Carolina because he didn't want to be there. Came on at the end so he could impress other NFL teams to overpay his crybaby self.:crying: Not wanting him with the Saints. Pressley should be stepping up. I hope to see him doing more and performing better since he is a hometown boy of mine! Just say "NO" to Peppers!:)

We can sign FAs. We just can't sign anyone in the top $$ tier unless we lose someone of the same price value.
